People are so cute...

RedDeerRed

I just had the CUTEST call! This kid navigated the entire IVR to get through to Blue care, just to ask me how to spell 'Phoenix'. Calls like that make my day. 🙂

Cute, but sad. Sad because grown men and women cant understand how to use the IVR or know how to verify their own accounts, yet a little kid can.

Notice how some calls are a lot easier to handle when the customer says, "Hold on, i'll let you speak to my son/daughter."

i had the unfortunate experience to call blue care for some of our att customers, and i hate it. hate is a strong word, but it is absolutely ridiculous. calling orange care is so much easier and user friendly. we know most of the customers are idiots, why make it so hard to get a person on the phone instead of that voice recignition crap?

Silly people. Use 1-800-331-0500, for ALL customer care. By using the wireless number, it routes you to the proper department, blue AND orange. NEVER use 800-888-7600. Never!

Unless you have a recently migrated number and then you get routed in circles 🙂

I'm a blue rep, and I hate the IVR as much as anyone else, but regardless of how much you hate it when you call in and how much you yell at me, i did not put it there, I can't change it, and i most definately don't want it there either. So shut up!

Now, see, to me while that would have definately been a WTF call, I still couldn't find it in me to refer to it as cute. Why in the world was the kid calling Cingular to ask how to spell Phoenix?

Hiya back! Missed you for a while.

I don't mean to be mean about it, and if that kid can navigate the painintheass that is the Blue IVR then he's definately smarter than most adults I've come in contact with here. But I can't find it cute simply because I don't understand why the kid would call a cell phone company's CS dept. for that. Maybe I'm just gettin a little overly cynical from workin around here.

By the way, I've got a job interview on Wed.!!!! 😁 I may be gettin outta this HOLE!!

Missed you too. Where you been?

Yeah you are too cynnical from working here.

Good Luck on your job interview.

Question though, if you get it does that mean we don't hear from you anymore?

I've been here, but I haven't seen you around much. 😕

Yeah, I figured it was makin me cynical and maybe a bit jaded. Maybe I'll get better once I'm out.

As for not hearing from me, I seriously doubt that's gonna happen. I was here before I started workin in wireless and I'm too much of a techie to really stop keepin up with phones and services. And my proposed shift would be from 1:30-10pm in the collections dept. (outbound) for Citibank, so I'm sure I'll have some downtime here and there, and if not I'll at least be able to check up before work.

You won't miss me too much while I become a phone-clone. 😁

Ive been around. Just not posting much on the Cingular forums. Ive been in the lounge mostly.

Im glad you will still be around. Would suck not hearing from you at least once in a while. Whatever happens, get access to the lounge. 😛

Its good seeing you on here again, I almost thought you forgot about me. 😕

No, haven't forgotten. I just really haven't visited the Lounge in a while. I'll stick around, if for no other reason than to talk to some of you guys and keep up to date on sweet new phones. (I've got an upgrade since I'm not on contract and I wanna use it for something VERY nice).

Hopefully I'll be able to access the net from my cube without any restrictions. If I get the job that is....(crosses fingers)

Yeah, me too! But I don't know what I'll do with myself...I'll have a regular 8 hour day with a LUNCH BREAK!!! 😁 And 1st day benefits!

Of course I also have to be on the phone all day doing outbound collections calls. Oh well, maybe it'll satisfy my evil streak to tell people that because they didn't live up to thier responsibilities that their credit is about to be ruined. 😈

Ahh yes collections, the dark side of the call center. I actually only want collections because it's the only outbound calls they do in that particular center. I much prefer outbound, it puts me in more of a position of control in the call. When you receive an inbound you get on the line with no idea of why you're talking to this person, but with outbound I'm calling them to resolve an issue. Until they pick up the line and hear "Hi, Mrs. Smith? This is Joey from collections at ....." they have no idea why thier phone is ringing and I'm automatically on the high ground so to speak. It's a much more comfortable position for me to be in when I'm not face-to-face with someone.

Well, not that there are that many good agent store reps to begin with, but it wasn't Cingular that drove me out. It was the agent company I work for. They've treated me like crap. Compound that with the customers treating me like crap (which they do in any business, it's the nature of customers) and I just can't take it anymore. Citibank's the first opportunity that has presented itself for new employment and I'm takin it. (COR doesn't have any openings here)

That and I'm starting bartending class on Tues. so I'll have two good ways to make some $$ 😁
