1000 Anytime for $39.99?? She lied! Insider help?

memillh06

I was a Cingular Blue customer. I called to cancel service so that I could get a better plan elsewhere. Cingular Blue retension convinced me to stay. She said that if I switched to Cingular orange, I could get the 1000 rollover, with no N&W for $39.99 (even though its not on the Cingular webpage anymore). She said that if I called back during the next few days, the reps would say that I have the standard 450 and 5000 n&w plan for $39.99 and that the 1000 plan would kick in next week. She said that I would have my 1000 minutes regardless of what customer care says.

It sounded a little fishy, so when I got my new V3 yesterday in the mail and activated it, I called in to see if anyone had heard about this delay process of getting the 1000 mi...

there was a rate plan that was 1000r anytime for $39.99. about 2 years ago, it was only offered on a "home" plan and last year it was offered on a nationwide plan. it a promotional rate plan that usually comes out around the last quarter and once it's gone from telegence or care (the billing system) it's gone...no one can retrieve it

You know, I even asked her about the fact that it was expired. The Orange migration rep confirmed she could get me it anyway and then told me that story about the 1000 for $39 "kickin' in" next week. What the hell did she think she was doin'?

Another reason to walk int a store...you know where to find the person when what they said becomes a problem.

Not everyone is getting this offer. Our mailer claimed to offer great plans, offered us a choice of two different phones for $20 apiece, and of course mentioned "an" activation fee for this privilege.

The plans were the same one's everyone else gets, viewable online at Cingular.com per the mailer. The phones offered were an acceptable Nokia 3120; the other I wouldn't take for free.

Great offer? Basically it's just a con to switch for dollars out of my pocket with a phone I have to purchase with a two year contract. So what's so special? It's the same thing everyone else gets, so it got round filed.

Cingular could do a better job keeping their blue TDMA customers if everyone got the offer you mentioned. We didn't, and yes, we're in C...

We are currently running a promotion for 1000r with m2m in the web match/migrations/CSM/lifestyle managment etc./promotions dept. (we do it all). This is was a huge drop in California, Hawaii, Nevada and I also believe in New Mexico. It's targeting blue 2g customers. We also offer the 29.99 plan with 400 anytime min. and all the legacy familytalk plans (59.99 with a extra line for 9.99). Plus a free Samsung C207 (ugly free phone in my opinion) and a Moto V551 for 49.99. Of course as with many promotions, there are no me toos on this promo, so unless you got a flyer you aren't eligable.

Since we are taking these promos right now, these plans are loaded into our systems. We ran a promo 2 months ago that was the 1000 min plan, but also had 5...

The only thing I heard is that there was a promo plan, but it wasn't generally available. The retention team did send out offer flyers to select customer's a up to a few weeks ago for who knows what criteria to recieve the promo plan. If you didn't get the offer on a flyer, though, I didn't think that they could offer it. Also, that promo plan still had 5k N&W when I checked. This is the closest offering I have heard about to what you described there, and as I said, it was not a generally available offer.

The retention (loyalty) team can migrate people to a plan, under cingular, that is 39.99, no N&W, unlim MTM, and 100 rollover. Only migrations done by the save team can get this plan.

Hmmm... I believe that department is now a part of CLM, which if I am right will mean that you will have the devil's own time trying to reach them... unless you have the flier with a listed number or otherwise reach a rep who has an extension. The old name of CLM was CRM, Customer Retention Managment, and I believe that they are currently handling loyalty retention as well as migrations. Good luck to the customer to reach them, then.

B/c when a customer activates a migration on the orange side, we CANNOT put them on a 39.99 1000 min plan, we don't have one in our system, so then we get angry customers screaming "they told me i could have this plan" which makes me wonder why the hell the blue side would offer a plan that cingular doesnt have..... 👿

I hear you I never offered such a plan nor do I know of one. When they got question on the rate plans i use the migration tool or the website my CSP is still not working it did for a bit then it stopped. So I get my info from where the customers get theirs for orange offers.

Only the Save Team on the AWE side can get you this rate plan. It is $39.99 with 1000 rollover mins and unlim m2m. The Cingular reps and AWE reps do not know about this plan. If you call 866-293-4634 and ask to speak w/ the loyalty team, we can get it added to your account for you.

Thats what the Blue rep just said. She couldn't believe I found the answer through an online forum so quick. She asked for the Phonesccop website address and kept apologizing for the lack of communication within the company. She said she was very embarrased and said she would put a "0" down for the 1-10 scale service survey. I felt bad because she spent the last hour hustling for an answer. She sounded more frustrated with Cingular than me by the end of the call! 😉

So if my 1000 rollover for $39.99 don't kick in by next week, I know where to call now. Thanks everyone.

I renewed on that promo just before it expired last year (Nov). It's 1000 anytime, no N/W and no M2M. I needed it because I was constantly going a little over. I now have a Rollover balance of 2000 ... which tends to hold me as a captive Cing-customer.

I think the 1000-promo was only good for a year, so this coming November I'll probably get bumped down to 450 mins at the same $40/month. But if they do, that's actually a big mistake by Cingular. Here's why.

My rollover balance is very handy for occasional months when it seems I'm on the phone constantly ... I never use landlines at all. So therefore, the rollover balance is a retention magnet. If Cingular dumps me down to 450 mins, my balance will evaporate over the second contract yea...

Cingular does not take away your plan at the end of the agreement period. I havemany customers who come in with that rate plan and don't want to switch even though they want to renew to get a new handset. No Problem, we get then new equipment and let them keep their plan.

It's funny how you are thinking about this and getting upset at Cingular for something that hasn't happened and (MOST LIKELY, region dependant) won't happen.

Relax.

Dude relax the chances of loosing the rate plan even with upgrading you phone is so small you'll probibly win the state lottery first. We have Legacy AWS customer's still on the Charter Plan Unlimited Minutes $99.99 from when we first launched GSM. They keep reuping and keep the plan. Funny thing is with Unlim N/W, and M2M promo's and rollover most dont need it anymore. Try convincing them of that though 😕

Problem with this is you actually have to say you are going to cancel your service. the rep can get nasty feedback if they transfer the call just because.

I actually have heard about this delay period, but I have only heard about it once. The explaination I got about why there is this delay was because they don't actually set youi up on this promo plan, they set you up on the normal plan with 450 anytime, 5000 N&W etc... What they then do is fill out a form in our system called NWRS that has to be processed by our P&R (process and research) which they then somehow apply it to the new Orange acct, replacing the normal plan... I'm not sure if this is what actually happens, but this is what a Retention team rep told me

That plan actually is a valid plan. its through the CRM/CLM department. they dont have an 800# bc it changes every 60 days, but anyone in DMDR can transfer you internally and you can talk to a rep there in order to get that plan set up..they are the only ones who have access to that plan.

Thanks, I got one of those reps to force the plan through for me since it didn't "automatically" happen on the day they said it would.
