I am looking at buying a 6230i off of ebay.
( I assume I will have no problems with this, if so please advise)
So I have a 2 year old sim in my nokia 6200 and I would be putting it in the new phone.
Question is - are there any advantages in having a new sim? If so what are they?

I have heard about a new feature called ENS for network switching? Is that part of the phone or sim?

thanks in advance - Kevin

The 32k sims are better in my opinion, on the new sims you are load balanced to one side, orange or blue, on the old ones it just searches for the best tower, whether orange or blue,

The ENS is a phone software part without it a 64K 410 SIM is useless.

Believe it or not the 64K 410 SIM card works well stabilizing connectivity.

I know that because I am using one and not once have I had a dropped call or static call.

The other day I took a call from an unhappy customer. This customer was frustated claiming his service was riddled with dropped calls and had phone replaced once (Mot v180).

While on the call there was static and fading thinking that at any time I will lose the call. I asked him if there was another phone I could call him back other than his wireless when he told me was parked outside a Cingular store where he had gone to complaining about the issue.

In no time I had looked at his SIM number and...

Are they currently giving out the new Sims? My old one was white, my mom's was orange and white, and today we both got new ones with a blue strip down the middle. Does that mean anything, or is that just a new design?

That is actually the opposite of how it was explained to us and how I have seen the SIMs work. The 32k card doesn't pick up the strongest of the towers, it looks for a Cingular one first and even if it has a weaker signal than a nearby former AT&T Wireless tower the SIM will pick up the weaker Cingular tower. The 64k SIM does the opposite and picks the strongest of the two.
