You don't have to work here, I'll huy you the classifieds so that you can find a new job, you are not making yours or anybody else job easy by complaining. There are a lot harder and less paying jobs out there. You should consider your self lucky to have a job at all. But with such negative attitude that may soon change. So please try to think about some positive things and do your job.

I posted this on the AT&T/Cingular forum, but it is appropriate here, too.
We don't need to express our gratitude for having a job here on this forum. I can get another job, sure thing, but why? I am quite positive the ascerbic attitude I put forth here (and everywhere, really) doesn't translate to the customer, because I am a faceless name with scripts to follow, and a pleasing plastic voice sympathetic to it. We work at a job where we are perpetually someone else. Is it any wonder we need a place to discuss/rant about/complain about our jobs? No. So keep your "If you don't have anything nice to say..." crap to yourself. We know, we've heard it, many times, and with more eloquence than what you have offered up.

With the exchange rate that would work out to be similar, not to mention we lose a huge chunk of our pay in taxes and when we buy stuff there goes another 15% in sales taxes.

im in canada. my base pay is $ 11.00 , i've worked here for a year, but we get "incentive" in our call center. it's not commission or anything. if we are in the top 30% of the stats in our center we get 2$ an hour extra, then the next 30% make 1$ an hour extra and then the rest just make their base wage. But our $$ isn't worth as much here. 13$ would be like your 10.50

I'm in sales for an agent and I only get $7.00 an hour plus commission (a sadly outdated commission structure that is)!!!
With my cost of living as low as it is I'd get by just fine on $11 an hour. Throw in commission of any kind after that and I'm havin a field day. As it is 7's just barely pushin it.

you know you cant compare yourself though to COR Agents get paid way diffrently i believe agents working for Mobitel Also Get Paid for actual phone sales... but again thats heresay.... And you're right COR agents do get paid way differently...as in way more when it comes to my company (I've got a COR acquaintence who's worked here and confirms). God I WISH I GOT COMMISSION ON PHONE SALES!!! If I did I'd be rollin' in it, I trend more units moved than both the other reps in my store combined for most months. And I almost always do 50% or more of the stores new act's alone.

I know this isn't a common occurence, and only slightly related to this topic, but if there are any reps online, reading this, who add commisionable features without any direction from the customer, let me just say, you are pond scum. You are lower than that. yea I know where the door is I use it comming in to work and when I leave work at night but thanks for pointing it out to me in case I forgot and had to stay here all night....I complain so that when I deal with stupid people I dont snap and take their heads off...walk a mile in my shoes friend and you'll be begging for a tower and a good sniper rifle to use in it

Dang what's up with you. I have proved call after call that I am far from second rate. Maybe you are a first rate as a rep but you suck as a person and as a co-worker. A good coworker would offer help to reps that our struggling. Instead you judge reps when they are posting and venting after bad calls.

And when did you become a judge? Seriously, you suck. I have 100% quality, am 100% AWIT, 2 months in a freakin' row, and I am constantly assured I am a fantastic asset to the company. Who are you to tell me how posting affects my efficiency OR effectiveness? You don't know jack. It seems to me that you are just out to feel sanctimonious in front of a crowd of faceless individuals, and whatever satisfaction you derive from this I find twisted, and not even in that evil-but-a-good-kind-of-evil way. More like your paradigm allows you to be so smug and self-important that finding flaws in public affairs is almost like a hobby. That's really sad, and leaves you as the most likely candidate to be the poor CSR.

You guys sound like prisoners. If you bitch (or as you guys put it "vent"LOL) enough things will change.
They won't. Know why? Because there is an endless supply of those who would take your job at the same wage. From reading these posts it seems much of your job is scripted and specifically procedure oriented. Thats so you CAN be easily replaced.
So as I see it you have only two choices (not three, the third being changing things)
Either continue leading lives of not so quiet desperation, or get out and find a place in the world where you will be happy. Those places are few and far between and only the brave few are strong enough to seek out their "dream" job...thus there are very few "lucky" people who are actually content with ...

The other option than ranting on here would be to rant to the customers. I can act nice and sweet to everyone who calls in but I need to rant sometimes about the really annoying ones or just the silly ones. So our frustration doesnt show to the customers the only ones who know we are frustrated are the ones on here. If you have a legit problem I'll be glad to help you but at the same time understand that we are frustrated because sure you might have real problems but not everyone does.
