Those freaking morons who get roaming and automatically assume that we changed their plans. What are the reps randomly accessing accounts and changing plans? Not bloody likely, it gets even better when they call you a liar. Why would I lie about something like that? I honestly don't care about your plan, or what your invioce is. If cingular made a mistake we will credit it. If you were too lazy to call in before you went travelling and inquire about roaming, then that is hardly my fualt. Also how long have you had that phone? And you still don't know what your HCA is? It isn't our fualt your a dip-sh!t

Also there kinda fit togther, but the poeple who get mad at me becuase we did not upgrade them to GSM, just becuase of the merger...

I get roaming on my bill every month and I have to call and have it removed. But the only reason I get it is because I live 4 blocks from the bridge to Canada. I live in New York and Cingular doesnt have a tower close to the border so it roams to ROGERS ATT. Other than that people dont understand roaming, they assume that the reps somehow screwed up their bill, the particular rep they talk to on the phone did it! Go figure. While I dont work for wireless I do work in customer service and I hear it all day long, like its my fault right?

You seem like a very intelligent customer. And according to business rules it is our fault cause the customer is always right. You agree with that policy??

well id say no. I work at a local store, a kind of department store so while you deal with wireless, i deal with people returning expired food daily and scamming and stuff. I would say some truly are right, and you can tell who is. I love when they lie to your face and treat you like your and idiot. I can tell for the most part who lies. But my job is to stand and smile! Overall the good customers make it worth it, but most are just plain rude, dumb, or a combination.

I agree its annoying that I have to call every month to get my roaming off my bill. But its something I have to do unless I want to pay a ton of money. Thank god Cingular allows for the charges to be taken off though or else id get no service half the time. You ever had peo...

Yes actually it is kind of odd cause usually we only are supposed to credit back once for this but cust care understands it is not your fault it is not like you go to Canada every day. We don't get those calls too much from N.Y. maily from cities that border Mexico. Most are very rude but you seem very nice about it. We, well I, appoligize for the inconvenience but that is the wireless way not fool proof or easy.

You ever get people who say this is what happened and this is what you are gonna do for me??
Please don't try saying that to us it will get our game face on and make us relectant to help if you tell us how to do our job.
We get alot in your situation who are very patient though. Used to it they understand it is not our fault

Well I was told they would credit me every month so I call every month. Cingular emailed me and told me to call every month, so did the associate at the store and at customer care. I guess they put a note in my account, I dont know if they really keep those notes in there or not, do they? Anyways for example I just talked on my phone for 20 minutes and i didnt even realize i was roaming in Canada. Its something I cant help, only cingular roams over there this much, Tmobile did it to me once in the year I had them. As long as Cingular understands and takes them off I have no problem, they tell me that they have roaming agreements so i shouldnt be charged.

I understand, i have customers who scam me monthly and know that I have to help them ...

wow! Yeah thought you were
at&t but either way you are obviously accidently roaming they do save the notes. For approx 1 year but they will be able to see for future. I personally don't mind the E317 but I would suggest Samsung P207 or the lg a7110. I know what people say about the lg but it is actually a real good phone I have had mine for two years and the poor thing has gonne thru sop much abuse it has been dropped so many times and the battery has been separated it is almost needed duct tape but still get good signal and works as good as it day on day one

well i got the P207 off ebay and I resold it because i could barely hear on it. And when I pushed the button for the lady to talk to me to say a name of who I wanted to call, I could barely hear her. Maybe I just had a bad one. I havent seen the LG one. Im one for a smaller size phone thats a flip. One of the picky ones in a way I guess. The e317 isnt bad all the time, its certain locations and certain people that are hard to hear. It is very hard to hear with a lot of noise compared to other phones. I know you cant get the P207 over the phone at Cingular either, online only for some reason. Any other ones coming out soon? Im glad they keep the notes, I just checked my last call was 31 minutes roaming, thats like 27.00. I hate when that happ...

Where do you work? I was working as a Customer Service Rep at a grocery store chain and we always required a receipt to give money back over $10. Other than that, we logged their information, but still honored their requrest. If their name was in the log book more than one time, they would not be able to return anything without a receipt. So far, working so good. We rarely have any returns, not like Wal-Mart. We get some, but I guess it's worth it to keep the customers happy.

There is supposed to be a system in place that will not allow a wireless phone to from cross border, at least within Canada, or from Canada to the USA. I myself live in Canada and as soon as I cross the border and enter the USA my phone switches to the American roaming network and I can not make calls. So why it does that to you is screwed up, the company's have taken steps to eliminate this but its not full proof.

well cingular blocks the option out on cell phones to manually set and change the network, why I dont know. I cant select the option like i used to on T-Mobile. According to Cingular they have agreements with ROGERS in Canada to allow us to Roam on their network and Cingular isnt supposed to charge us, yet we get charged every month. They always reverse the charges though, I was told through Cingular Email Support, at the store, and on the phone that I just have to call. Its a bit of an inconvenience and I wish I had the option to set my phone not to ROAM at all but I cant get that option re instated on my phone.

Yeah I know I have had customers call because of it so I know, but they say there is a system in place to avoid this, but well what they say and what they do is completely different when it comes to the wireless game.

Yeah, I agree. I just think people overreact. I know that its not my fault, im never in Canada. Last night I talked for 31 minutes and was roaming in Canada without even knowing. So thats like 27.00 they will have to credit me plus the 7 minutes that are already on there roaming from previous calls.

My peeve for the day is people who call up for minute usage, you tell them they can check it from their phone and they refuse to do it because they "want to know how many minutes I gots LEFT," and the minute messenger tells them how many are used. Crap, people, are you telling me you're wasting everybody's time because you are completely unable to do SIMPLE SUBTRACTION? Good gods... 🙄

God forbid if they have M2M! Then all bets are off on what number they get! It's just wonderful how Cingular can find the time to track down EVERY call to EVERY department to come up with "magic" repeat call stats but they are just too busy to fix the *MIN feature. I'm sure our customers would be happy to know that.
