Problem with Porting

Having a problem porting one of two numbers. Got the first ported but have been having a problem with Cingular on the second. The technicians have now been telling me for over two weeks that they are working on this but I am still waiting.........
Could somone please tell me where to complain so I get proper assistance. Do I go to a government watch dog or is there a Cingular division?
Any help would really be appreciated.

I was with Cingular before but thru a sub agent of theirs so I received a bill from this subagent each month and not Cingular. My main number was ported over just the second number is a problem.

Thanks

Ooooh, that's always a fun situation. We have a subagent in our area called PCI and it's always a complicated change. It's not quite so easy as a port, and it's all internal. I know it can be worked out, but it's all done the old fashioned way (meaning paper forms and fax machines).

Caleb,

I love those Hawk Electronics customers! I have ported them and sudmitted the form to have them release the number back to Cingular. I guess it works both ways.

I'm in the same mess right now with a local subdealer who does the same thing, but through AT&T (on the TDMA side even!). It was offered through the local Teacher's Credit Union, and I've done several ports from them so far. They are a nightmare to deal with and I'm working on one right now.

To whoever started this thread - good luck to you. It's probably not anything that Cingular is doing that is delaying this. Also, the 'window' that they are allowed to do a port in for cases like this is larger than you would expect. They may still be well withing it if you are dealing with a subdealer or MVNO.

Just as I was reading Elihuspeaks thread I got a call from Cingular to say the technical problem had finally been resolved and that the port is working and to come pick up the phone and sim card. To say that I am happy is just a major understatement. Boy this forum seems to have brought me luck. Thanks.

if you are porting from your old digital service to gsm than all you have to do is call cingular gsm porting activation centre and provide them with the phone IMEI and SIM number and they can do it in about 5 min
