Nokia's are great! They last forever and are easy to use so any new Nokia would be a good upgrade. It also depends on what you want in features etc.

The 6101 is not an upgrade, if you will compare the two you will see the only thing that the 6101 has the 6230 don't have is push to talk, and Cingular don't have that anyway, but the 6230 has so much more than the 6101 had. The only real upgrade from the 6230 is the SonyEricsson s710a, I have this phone and my girlfriend has the 6230. The only reason I even say that the s710a is an upgrade is because of the larger display and better camera, other than that I like her phone better than mine. 😉
