T-Mobile
Does anyone really think T-Mobile has "Great" service and "Great" coverage without 850Mhz? The guys in the T-Mobile forum do, I just don't see how they can grow a network without the 850 band.

i think t-mo is doing great with what they have now, but not using 850 holds them back in the U.S. companies like cing and att have a major advantage.

Well I don't know what Tmobile company you all are with 😉 😉 . But the Tmobile company I'm with work under 1900Mhz band. My phone doesn't even have the capabilities to work on the 850Mhz band. Just want to clear up a few things.

T-Mobile is really horrible here in Texas. I have never been with T-Mobile, but I know many people who have. They are always complaining to me about how bad the service is. I just say hey come by a Cingular phone from me. $$$

There's nothing wrong with 1900-only, as long as the network is designed with 1900 in mind. Because it doesn't "reach" as far, you need more 1900 towers to cover non-urban areas, but as long as you do that, there's no reason a 1900 network can't match the performance of an 850 network.
Also, keep in mind that there are only 2 850 licenses for any given location. So there are plenty of places where Cingular or AT&T is 1900-only, because they do not have an 850 license.
Plus, you can't deploy WCDMA in 850, so when AT&T/Cingular starts rolling out 3G, it will all be in 1900. They won't have a choice.
