Lets say I wanted to have a prepaid account, can I use any cingular dual band gsm phone or do i need to buy one of 4 of their GoPhones?

You have to have on the our go-phones.blur go-phones, didn't matter, but orange ,you have to use ours otherwise it wouldn't work properly

comeon now austin thats not right i take calls from people all the time useing v551 sony 710 and one guy useing a razor on their prepaid go phone so any phone will do

Yes, you can use any GSM handset on Go Phone provided it is the dual band. You may not be able to use MMS and internet but the voice portion will function just fine.

i have one and still do for when i travel and have never had a problem refilling mine on the ivr .......but its still with att blue side ..i have a cingular phone that is on a region plan

I am 4 for 5 on Go Phone PYP activations. The one that went wrong went TERRIBLY wrong. They tried to buy a Cingular prepaid Visa. Greendotfinancial has about the worst customer service I have ever seen.

I don't know if you use KIC in your market but for new GoPhone activations it never recognizes the new account. TELEGENCE will but not KIC. Furthermore if you switch from a Pay As You Go to a Pick Your Plan that SIM card is as good as dead.
