Seems like a decent os that has really good support from manufactures and networks.

Its really hard to get excited about something I have tried several times and every version ends up with the same problems. Starting Windows phone, 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 6.5. now windows 7 moblie. All the other ones lock up, freeze, drop calls, resetting the phone several times a day. I feel like I was testing a bata for the market place.

windows 7 is not another version of windows Mobile, it is a base level rewrite.

This is like PalmOS going to WebOS not BBOS5 to BBOS6

Because its a base level rewrite, this some how means you have faith after all those other versions that failed?
The patches they put out only meant more patches was now needed to fix the new problems.
I would love nothing more than to find a windows phone that REALLY works and does what they market the product to do without the errors and freezing and re-setting all the time. I have spent a lot of money on windows over the years and get the same results. IPhone puts out a product and it works the frist time, why cant windows? But I dont want Apple. Again, I just feel like I have been a bata tester for Windows moblie for all these years and they are still asking for more bata testers.

Microsoft went from Vista to 7 and 7 is amazing, hands down.

IE9 is a pleasure to use.. I could NEVER say that about any other IE

Windows Live Mail, Pictures, Windows media player/media center etc are all amazing applications and lightyears ahead of what they had prior to this.

They released ZuneHD which is just an amazing piece of software.

There is every reason to suspect that windowsphone 7 will do the same. If they can fix IE 9 they can fix anything.

I had one of the first generation macbooks that used an intel processor. I had issues for the life of the device. It was bad enough that apple actually offered a lot of free out of warranty service on the devices, going so far as to replace my battery, harddrive, keyboard, ...

honestly im apprehensive about making the move. Just to lock yourself in for 2 years for something that is so un-established is kinda risky. If I WERE to move to a Win7 phone I would do it next year after a few of my friends have tried it and I can get my hands on an actual phone.

It does have pretty good support from the manufacturers but there is going to be that phase where it still has to build up. apps wise. So idk... they seem like legit phones but i'm iffy on the software.

I agree with you about the apps. With the support it's getting I doubt it will take long to build a nice app library. It kind of seems like these tiles are a less customizable version of motoblur doesn't it? I like the freedom that android gives you and it appears (at least from the UI's I've seen) that Microsoft went a little more down IOS alley then they did Android. Not even ios4, besides customizing the tiles, it doesn't appear as if you can have a background image. Just like the old ios you can have one on the lock screen though. Again, probably too early to pass judgment, just going off of what I saw in the videos.
