From what I understand, they want to get a normal plan (maybe even an iphone) but they don't want to have a normal credit check/contract line.

Also, to start post paid service with VZW, and I believe Sprint as well you would have to have a credit app run as well.

AT&T are changing their prepaid services to include Unlimited Talk and Text with different Data packages. Doesn't require a credit check since its prepaid. So you can get AT&T services and pay full price for the phone. The only phone you can't get at no commitment pricing is the iPhone because Apple and AT&T are no longer selling it without a contract. Unless you get it by other means.

You can purchase an iphone at no commitment. You must have a valid credit card and it must be attached to an ATT account. One per customer per lifetime.
