May Handset Pricing/New Phones
Has anyone else looked at their May handset pricing? I am looking at the sheet for the Dallas market and am shocked at what I am reading.
New phones - Nokia 3220, Audiovox SMT5600, nothing is listed about the Moto V635 Moto a630, or LG7100, or Nokia 6230i.
Moto V3 - down to $299 w/ no MIR.
Nothing really too shocking. I was hoping that the V635 would be here around the 1st of May, like the V600 was last year.

im in the upstate new york market and have seen the pricing....we have no new phones not even the nokia 3220....the LG7110 is only available on estore only for us

I don't really see any new phones in the Carolina's market either. And the RAZR here is $319.99 on a 2 yr w/no rebate.

That kinda suprised me too! There aren't any new phones on the list. I was at least expecting to see the p207 from Samsung on it.
I think it's cool how Cingular is offering an instant rebate of 20 bucks on any camera phone when a customer gets a media bundle...You can really tell Cingular is desperate to get their customers to use the media net and messaging...

I wouldn't call it a desperation move. Sure they're trying to drive their data usage more, but I think what they're tryin to do is more akin to the rebate trick that ALL carriers play.
The customer gets the phone thinking about the price AFTER rebate, fully intending to send it off and get their money back. Once they get home, most people either forget to do the rebate, or they do it improperly and don't qualify. This will work in a similar fashion. They get the package to get the $20 off the phone fully intending to cancel it, then when they get home they're so enamored with their new toy and what it can do that they forget to cancel the MEdia package. Also, there are the people who never read their bill and just assume that it's p...

Yeah, no p207 really sucks. I have a lot of folks asking about it, and I haven't recieved the dummy phone yet. I was really hoping for the V635 or a630. Phillyslicker forwarded me a picture of the Cingular branded a630 that she bought in the DCS market. There is also one for sale on ebay. I decided to buy the T-Mo version and I had it unlocked by T-Mobile. It works perfect, but I can't set up the media net settings......there is simply on menu for it. So much for utilizing the 5 megs I have on the employee plan.

I saw let them call. It is just like anything else when it comes out and is popular.....expensive. I have a lot of folks interested in the phone, but decided to wait until the price dropped. My guess is that it will bottom out there. Is this foreshadowing for the black V3 that should be out during the summer?

You can get the Razr in NYC at Wireless Time in NYC (109 W 45th St, New York, NY 10036) (212) 869-8885 for $99 after rebate. My friend just signed up a few weeks ago. No gimmicks. They are a Cingular Authorized Dealer.
