Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a village near the forest. Whenever she went out, the little girl wore a red riding cloak, so everyone in the village called her Little Red Riding Hood.
One morning, Little Red Riding Hood asked her mother if she could go to visit her grandmother as it had been awhile since they'd seen each other.

"That's a good idea," her mother said. So they packed a nice basket for Little Red Riding Hood to take to her grandmother.

When the basket was ready, the little girl put on her red cloak and kissed her mother goodbye.
"Remember, go straight to Grandma's house," her mother cautioned. "Don't dawdle along the way and please don't talk to strangers! The woods are dangerous."...

YAE!

(I can finally carry BlackBerry on the 200MB plan, and get the smartphone I really want Xperia X10 -if it comes out- on the 2BG plan)

Before these plans I refused to pay $30x2. It's a shame that once you get a BB (at least for me) it's hard to leave its OS. They got me good with that BlackBerry IM. 😕

Yea... they give people the option of getting "cheap" smart-phones.

As Smart-phones become more main-stream, it's important to have an entry level option. I know of a few people that are not interested in $30/month but would give thought to $15/month for an iPhone/Android/BB/etc.

Nae... they are going to limit innovation.

Unlimited data was creating tons of cool stuff. Netflix, twitter, youtube, barcode scanners, etc.

We haven't even started using *REALLY* cool stuff like video calls on a normal basis... these data caps are going to cut these services off at the knee's.

It will get more people into the smart-phone market... but those people will be able to do less.

It simultaneously lowers the floor to allow more smartphone users into the ecosystem and places the high bills with the high users- the way an open marketplace is supposed to operate.

The minimal users are no longer subsidizing the heavy abusers. Good plan.
