Suggestion for a phone with a full size keyboard and wi-fi to use on GoPhone plan

I'm a huge Sprint fan and recently moved to an area not covered by Sprint. I haven't dropped my Sprint line because it'll only save me $10/month and I plan to move to a Sprint coverage area once my lease is up (long story, basically I was transferred for work and had 1 day to look for a place).

I bought a cheap GoPhone just to see if this is something I'll be able to use and so far, it's working fine. Now I want something that's fun.

It doesn't really matter how old the phone is, just as long as I can find one on eBay or Craig's List in good condition and inexpensive.

I would like a full size keyboard (preferably candy bar style, real or touch screen is fine). I would also like it to have Wi-Fi, mainly to download apps or sync ...

have high speed internet where your currently at? You could try for an AiRave.

Cell-Phone hot-spot tower that runs off of high-speed internet.

Otherwise... your pretty much relegated to old smart-phones of the Treo variety...

I do....Airave is not supported in my zip code so it will not activate. Trust me....I've tried for weeks and nothing. I took it to a friend's house in San Antonio and it was up and running by the time it took me to take a shower.

Didn't know that...

I would think high speed internet is high speed, regardless of zip-code (within bounds of US of course).

That's what I thought. I actually bought the thing on eBay one of my first nights here. When you call them, they give you the run around. Most of them told me it had to connect to towers, which I promptly told them that was bull squeeze.

I finally had one either accidentally or on purpose tell me it has to do with licensing issues. I guess it made sense, since I got no signal at all...not even in roaming.

I did try my old zip code and Airave wasn't available there either, so I guess it doesn't have to do with tower placement, just whether Sprint wants to allow it there or not.

I'll ask my Sprint rep next time I'm at work. It's good info to know, in case I want to continue blindly suggesting it as a viable option.

If you go to www.sprint.com/airave ,it'll let you put in the area code to make sure it's available in you're area.

I'm living in 77975, used to live in 78332.

When I hooked it up, either the GPS or connection lights wouldn't light up. Took it to a friend's house in San Antonio and it was running in 20 minutes.

Likely not a Sprint choice - FCC still controls whether a carrier can provide service in a particular area.
