There are equally as many cases where the customer DID NOT place their phone in an environment where it can easily be susceptible to Liquid Damage of any kind. But yet, it still happened. Take my wife's Samsung Eternity for example. We've had cell phones for years now and I have never seen her even once put her phone next to any liquid. Majority of the time, it's in a dry safe and secure place in her purse. Yet, how this one inc...

Your statement just blatantly highlights your complete incompetence in regards to wireless devices. Its common knowledge among those in the cell phone industry or those familiar with it that the phone doesn't have to set next to any liquid or have liquid spilled on it to get what is referred to as "liquid damage." Condensation can cause it, heavy humidity, leaving the phone on the bathroom counter while you take a shower, etc etc. There are a million and one different things that can cause liquid damage, but since you/your wife "never once put her phone next to any liquid" you're right - it just magically changed colors so ATT could screw you over.

What about people who live in very humid climates like southern Florida?? Should they not be able to use cell phones?? If that's enough to cause liquid damage then the phones are too sensitive.

If the humidity is high enough to turn the LDI red, then it is high enough to get liquid in the internals of the phone and possibly damage it.

I agree with you 100% that this is the case. My only point is that they need to make devices that aren't so sensitive and to better protect the internals from everyday moisture.

It's purely a coincidence that I've had the worst luck on this particular issue with at&t than with any other carrier.....And I've had a Cellphone since the early to mid 90s.

Me too! Got my first cell phone in the mid 90's and have never had a problem with moisture damage.

but i know that while the customer may not remember or realize that they did it, if the indicater is pink/red, then yes, they did in fact expose their phone to water or liquid...
to further demonstrate my point...
if you take your phone into the bathroom while you shower, the steam from the water will damage your phone. that could have been this lady's problem.
if you talk on your phone while walking in the rain (maybe you are on the phone and you get out of your car to go into your house, and it happens to be raining) then this could damage your phone.
if you are one of those people that sweats profusely, then sweat can damage your phone.

Dude, in this day and age, when a consumer buys into any expensive product (w.r.t, comparisons against what the market is capable of offering), then yeah no sheyat they'll have higher expectations from their devices. Common sense sir! iPhone is not immune to this one bit, which is why it may seem you have people with shorter tolerances for issues with them.
