Sure hope Verizon get's an iPhone.
"That same attrition, or churn, will actually start to improve quality on the AT&T network. For example, Sprint service right now is fantastic in many areas; they have lost 5-10 million users," said Gould.

The difference with cellphones is if you have android, and apple, and winmo and... let's say they get bada.. and bada fails, you still have a few platforms to fall back on, as long as you didn't dump ALL your marketing money/investment into bada.
Which is what they're doing now with Apple. Yes, it's making them a lot of money, but when they lose exclusivity (which they will unless one company buys the other) they'll have their flagship product, that...

I want to see other companys get the Iphone no problem with me on that. I think AT&T needs to make some better decisions, same can me said for sprint, t-mobile and verizon. I will say that I don't want them to fail any of them.
There are severl phones out that out perform the Iphone. I'll admit I have the Iphone now, only reason I don't have the nexus one is because I cant go into a store and buy one. (Got burnt once by ording off line.)

When I read things that talk about AT&T losing all these customer and people talk about how they hope AT&T fails I just don't get it. If AT&T fails are people not aware how many lives will be affected. Jobs lost, cars lost, homes lost.
Thank you for so eloquently enunciating your economic ignorance.
Shifting customers from one carrier to another has no impact on the net employment of telecom at large. If Ma Bell has to lay off 1,000 employees due solely to customer defections, the other telecom companies will have to hire employees to take care of the customers siphoned off of Ma Bell. If the other companies are being run more efficiently and only hire 800 people to offset t...

What I was trying to get at is why do people want AT&T to fail. Why do they want any company to fail. I would be saying the same thing if people were talking about verizon. I would even say the same for McDonalds. No I don't think losing the Iphone deal will affect AT&T to the point of fail. But did you see what the market did after WSJ wrote an article about verizon getting the iphone. AT&T's stock may be back up today ...

As for that 20% that don't have jobs now. Guess that will be ok for them. (1000 jobs lost 800 jobs gained) With you going all ECON 101 on me I must point out to you how 20% unemployment is not good. Country in at 10% now to help you understand what you are saying. FYI we are having a econ problem as a country.
Individuals who cannot compete with other job candidates in an industry will go find another industry to work in. It's been that way for 4,000 years and nothing is going to change it. It's called frictional unemployment and it's absolutely essential to the stable functionality of any economy.
I'm not out to see AT&T or any other specific company fail, but the reality...

"What percentage of AT&T family plan accounts do you look at that have ZERO iPhones on them?"

The rumor...again...is that Apple is working on developing a CDMA version of the iPhone and plans to begin distributing the popular smartphone through Verizon in the near future, ending its exclusivity arrangement with AT&T. The move could benefit Apple and Verizon, but will also be an advantage for existing AT&T customers.
Analysts have been predicting that Apple could dramatically increase iPhone sales by ending exclusivity. Of course, that conclusion doesn't take any extra-sensory perception to arrive at. If you have more or less saturated the market for iPhones at one wireless provider, and you add another--even larger--wireless provider, it makes sense that iPhone sales will increase accordingly.
Verizon has taken so
