4 abilities at&t needs to give to authorized retailers.

1. Let us see a customers PUK code rather than wasting a SIM card or having to a pay a call center rep to give it to us.

2. Give us the ability to add txt/data restrictions on a customers account. Once again. Waste of customer/my/call center rep time to call in and have it done.

3. Let us back date a plan to the beginning of a bill cycle. Contrary to popular belief most of us know how to explain what a pro-rated bill is.

4. iPhone!

Anything else I'm forgetting. Please add to the list.

Those 4 things would save us so much damn time. I hate it when you call in to have a text block put onto the account and the CSR says something stupid like "Can't you do it on your end?" GGGGGRRRRR If I could do it on my end do you honestly think I would waste my time by speaking with someone stupid enough to ask this question in the first place?

The only thing I would add would be to be able to add the intl features. Kinda stupid we don't have access to those.

ohhhh good point. They always have to review the account to see if its in good standing to have it. My guess is that in the 21st century there is a software solution that could check for their eligibility and allow us to add it based upon the requirements.

I thnk they are full of BS. As long as they are past that initial service date time frame they always end up being eligible. Kinda like how I always have to call credit and acts for approval on an exception upgrade but yet I've never had one denied.

Mar 3, 2010, 5:21 PM
yup, there should be a way to have us check to see if they are eligible.

I would change so much if I ran AT&T. Lots of ways to eliminate useless cost.

I called in for something like that one time- the rep asked why I couldn't do it on our end and my reply was "because your company won't let us". Duh.

Yes, we aren't in the original launch, but I expect to have the Iphone in the next couple of months. I took the training classes this past weekend.
The thing that still hacks me off is that we should have had the iphone BEFORE Best Buy and Wal-Mart. When I think of all of the sales that I've had to send to our COR "Brothers and Sisters", it makes me sick. I just hope that there are enough people still wanting the iphone.
Thanks ATT and Apple for finally doing what you should have done three years ago.

#1 Reason I sold my stores. Lost over a half million not being able to even offer the iPhone. And that is just in sales. Doesn't even count the $$ I am going to spend on closing stores where I could off the leases.

Wal-Mart carrying the phone over well trained exclusive indirect stores? Insulting.

Texas, I couldn't agree with you more. Insulting that Wal-Mart can sell it when we can't. It costs me boucoup $ too. We are supposed to be their "partners"... what a joke.

$500,000 is a lot to say you lost. Being that the GP on the iPhone for a dealer is $25 per phone, you would have to have sold 555 a month over the last 36 months. Plus whatever you would have made on accessories. They do not pay you on the iphone data plan. It's just a flat GP rate from att.

You are semi right....

1. Here in the dallas market, we have the ability to the blocked socs for data and messaging, except in the nbi market.

2. Give me the option to set up an individual nbi account.

3. Get rid of beuc. Why do you have to speak to the aop to get anything done? Regular Care doesn't require contact with the customer.

4. Give me the option to do a damn Tos. I can do it for pre paid to post paid customers. Don't nickel and dime a $18 fee.

5. Let me base credit on the mobility side based off wired credit class. Tired of people who come back with deposits, bring in phones that the landline folks sent out. I look like an asshole.

6. Don't send people in for free Sim cards. Do some frickin research before you sen...

My company does not receive the privilage of a discount on our phone bill every month. Why is it that Verizon workers can have At&t cell phones and not only that, but get a discount as well? My company sells phones FOR at&t and we don't get any discount whatsoever!! When I found that out, I was honestly considering another job, if only anyone was hiring anywhere...

What a load of crap.

Sounds like you work for a shoddy agent if you aren't being offered an ANR account. I won't even get the iphone when we start selling it because the ANR plans are so much cheaper.

I work for Corp ATTWS, have been with the company over 10yrs, we do not have the Iphone, we have gotten over it so, you should as well, to be blunt. There have been many issues with indirect's that they have placed restrictions due to people in the past, indirects, that may have ruined it for everyone else. So, its not the company its what has happened in the past. The Iphone, like we had to do at our corp location we got over the fact we dont have it, sell what you have! Dont make excuses, execute and you will be successfull!

You may not be able to backdate a plan, but customer care can. Thats why I am sayi...

Cust srvc cannot backdate either on the old TDMA srvc and when GSM 1st launched we were able to I was one of the teams that first tok calls with GSM nation wide since the billing system upgrade does not allow that to happen. I have a person who is still in care at this time and has confirmed they are unable to backdate even if a escalation came through they would make adjustments for the cust as a curt depending on situation. Good news for you about the iphone congrats...just letting you know that Corp locations out there still that cannot sell t he iphone, we have gotten over it and sell what we can if need be we can go to a store with our floating codes and sell one if we have too.

Thats strange that your friend in care can't back date a plan to the beginning of the billing cycle. I call and have it done atleast five times a month for customer who have gone over their minutes mid bill cycle. Do they work for business care?? If so, it doesn't suprise me. They are pretty useless.

The bottom line is that since we are "partners", we should be able to do everything COR does. Especially since we go through the same training. If the "customer rules" as ATT says it does, it is silly to make a customer leave my store and drive 20+ miles to the closest COR store to be assisted- is that really putting the customer first???

I agree with you maverick218 how do you think we feal when we are COR and cannot sell iphone? Sucks! FYI in our district alone all through 2009 we have pulled about 3 dozen or so of indirect contracts due to cust related issues with that store and miss information. I wish you the best in selling!

I've been told that it's mainly Apple- they don't like that they can't track what the iphone is sold for in dealer stores. BUT, I've also heard that dealer owners have been willing to sign something saying that if the phone is discounted, they won't be able to sell it anymore- since day one of the iphone. I imagine that something like that will have to be signed in order for us to sell it now.
I still feel that ATT sold us out to remain exclusive with iphone. 👿
