21 million subscribers was from the wasted att wireless purchase. they didnt not acheive 50 million subscribers by organic growth. so in theory, they did not get 50 million subscribers, becuase they had to go outside to get it and by doing so they paid a hefty price.

cingular has 29 million while att wireless had 21 million subscribers. thus; equals 50 million. yes, cingular is responsible for 58 percent of that, however, the other 42 percent was becuase of the purchase, not through organic growth.

i would say that cingular is great if they would have acheived that 50 million on its own, but since it didnt and it wasted money on att wireless they arent so great.

if i see that this year, they will get around 5-6 million subscriber...

organic growth means growth that the business does by itself. (not through outside purchases which isnt organic growth)

smart one.. it could happen. sprint bought nextel becuase of the local division tax-free spin off. if nextel wanted to buy out sprint they could but the local division wouldnt be properly spun off.

no other carrier uses iden?

in canada, telus.

in israel= mirs

in usa= nextel, nextel partners, southerlinc

If you're going to follow that logic, then nearly EVERY cell phone company, with the exception of the Almighty Nextel, doesn't have the number of subscribers that they claim to have. And in a few months, NEXTEL won't even exist either! How you like them apples, son?

Since the SEXTEL merger, the Nextel brand will go the way of the ATTWS Deathstar--the way of the dodo. Don't get too high and mighty, remember who bought your pride and joy: Sprint.

if it was a waste of bandwidth, dont respond to it, becuase chances are your reply would be a waste also. (which is was)

They got there by buying a failing company, there by acquiring 21 million "new" customers in the process. That doesn't mean cingular is "good or bad" either way, it's called business.
