I'm new to this so please, be patient... I have a nephew who would like a phone. I have tmobile. I do have an old ATT BLUE phone. If I call cust care for ATT ORANGE will they give me the SIM unlock? I mean, this phone is like 5yo but in still good condition. My nephew is only 9 and I WILL NOT buy a new phone for him.

Stop being a cheap ass ...... he may only be 9 years old but if he was to get kidnapped or hurt and lost his life because you felt it wasn't worth spending $30 bucks or more on a phone how would u feel ... granted u are the aunt/uncle....maybe mom and dad should help him out before u
if your trying to put him on your plan more than likely they will give him a pho...

You need to take a chill pill. L-ion batteries are good for decades (yes decades) in storage. It's the charge cycles that destroy them.

The better question needs to be, why does a 9 year old need his own phone? Many parents have a standby phone in the house that they can give younger children while they're unattended.
