So I was wondering if I had a netbook would I be able to use wi-fi without having a SIM card in it? Please don't respond with the corp BS that I have to have it if I don't. Thanks,

Not being a smartass but why wouldn't you have a sim card in it? Can't you just put an inactive sim card in there?

Sorry, I mean an active SIM card. my fault. Bottom line, will it work without the data plan?

The computer works like any other with a built in aircard. Only the WWAN will be disabled. The question is WHY would you get a more expensive netbook with built in aircard if you don't want to activate it and get the subsidy. You can typically buy the same netbook for $100 to $150 less without the aircard.

Only reason I want it is because I work for an att dealer and can get it taken out of pay checks. (sorry, I am a bb specialist and i have not been trained too much on the netbooks) I would active it later down the road. Its a gift.
