Need advice about ATT coverage Orlando and elsewhere
I am considering getting an iphone. Have had Verizon for years and very happy with the reliability of the network. Can use phone anywhere I've been in Orlando and other places.
But I have the itch for an iphone. Can anyone advise me about ATT coverage in the Orlando area. Have looked at coverage map but would like to hear personal experience.
Have read complaints about dropped calls on ATT on this forum and elsewhere.
Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks.

In my experience there were times where I had full bars and no service at all. I didn't understand that at first, but the bars dont guarentee service. AT&Ts customer service was ok. Some people have these issues and some dont. USE THE 30 DAY MONEY BACK GUARENTEE. THATs the only way you will know if it actually works with your lifestyle and needs. Unfortunatey I got fed up and canceled but it was well past my 30 days, problems started 6-7 months into contract. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks to both of you for your advice.
Both ATT and Verizon now have a return fee which I hate to pay for trying out the Iphone and finding the service bad. I will probably not switch even though I would like to get the Iphone.

You could always go purchase a gophone and see how coverage is with that. They are around $20 at national retail locations such as Radio Shack...

Thanks for the suggestion. I thought the gophone didn't use the 3G. Would that be a true test?

If you like Verizon's coverage and service, don't switch. There are some great phones that are about to come out. The second half of 09 is going to bring some great stuff. LTE for one thing.

Re Verizon new phones
I can't find any indication they will have apps that are similar to the Iphone. That's the attraction for me for the Iphone. But thanks for the message, VZW.

That's the entire reason I switched and bought an iPhone. I was a Verizon customer for over 10 years and I just became tired of the "on the horizon" predictions of great phones, puppies and rainbows.
Verizon's network is second to none, and their customer support is great too. But let's be honest here, their phones are mediocre to start and they take them down a notch with all the nonsense and limitations they wish to impart.
The final draw was when my entire family accidentally hit the same stupid button on their W755s, sucking 31kb of data and incurring each a $2 charge for a megabyte of data. This button mind you, is strategically placed so it will be hit.
AT&T isn't all that bad where I live, and in some instances, there's a ...
