Chances are they'll get it.

Though, it will be interesting to see how people will market it in store:

"Hey Mr. Smith! Remember last year when I talked you into coming over from Verizon to ATT to get our iphone because all they had was that Blackberry I told you was a piece of crap? Well, it turns out it was so popular that my company is offering it too! Would you be interested in an early upgrade so you can get the phone you wanted originally on my network?"

Then again, the same thing will be repeated when Verizon gets the iphone, well almost the same thing. Most of the people I know who actively "bash" the iphone to make sales go after the network more than the device.. but we'll see.

The difference is the Storm on ATT will be far better and probably more open....

The iPhone on Verizon....will never be....

how was the storm locked down again? It supported GPS from the box, was a global roaming phone, and runs blackberries OS.

I know this is hard, but replying to every post mentioning a verizon phone with "they crippled the UI" isn't witty or creative.

If one is trying to be "witty" or "creative" I agree....

I am just being truthful....

actually, at&t locks down more stuff on their phones than verizon does. yes verizon has a standard UI, but so does microsoft and apple. even linux for that matter... but you still use a computer. but at&t is far worse now than verizon ever was about their phones.

Now That's funny.......
and then you woke up....... 🤣
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

I don;t want a standard UI on a mobile phone. I want what the MANUFACTURER designed. Thats why I chose Symbian over WM or OSX. The UI....

no joe... what's funny is that i was stating that computer manufactures have 3 os's to choose from and they all have their own ui... you missed that part and said something about symbian. i didn't know symbian was such a major player in computer os field but you must know something i don't. also, i worked for at&t and used verizon and i know for a FACT that at&t locks down more things than verizon... you use unlocked phones, so your argument is not valid. so, you can say i'm wrong all you want, but i'm in the industry and know a little more than you.

I don;t care about computer operating systems reworked for mobile phones. I care about MOBILE centric operating systems like Symbian, Android...

but there is a difference in technology at work here. there really can't be 'unlocked' cdma phones because of the difference in provisioning. gsm is a set standard from the radios, to ground equipment, to air interface all the same. cdma only deals with air interface and actually other than voice all are set up differently. so, again, you are missing the point. you didn't buy your phone from at&t... but buy a phone from at&t and one from verizon and the at&t phone will be more 'locked' down than the verizon one.

also, you jump around a lot. back to the point i was making was that you said something about verizon's ui... i was stating that ui is important, just like the computer you are using to post this has a standard gui...

Please give specific examples of how VZ phones are more open then AT&T phones. I'm interested in what comparisons you have...

I had a guy come into my store the other day and wanted me to fix his storm.. I went to check the software and saw he was running it on ATT. Pretty much made all my suggestions on how to fix it pointless cause CS most likely won't help him.

It's the second generation of a phone. If things don't improve there are issues.

I sure hope that's true. Anything stepping closer to non-exclusivity is a good thing in my book.
