Highlights:

Apparently dragging and dropping is a terrible thing.

GSM works in more countries than there actually are (possible Moon roaming charges?)

Pre's Wi Fi use is limited because it's not free at Starbucks.

Limited business apps (I guess the >10 years previous don't count)

Pre's plastic is bad, but the iPhone's plastic is somehow better.

QWERTY buttons are somehow bad.

On a good note, this does mean that AT&T is taking the Pre seriously. They feel threatened already, and that's a very good thing.

Yes, Apple made the Storm a badly made phone...

John Maddan?

The storm isn't a badly made phone. It had software issues, most of which were solved by the .75 release of software.

I've read 50% return rates on the Storm and my buddy at work just got added to that list... his issue sounded like software but it wasn't working none-the-less

At our store, the return rate is maybe 20%, but a huge chunk of these are people who aren't ready for the phone.

They bring the phone back complaining that it is slow and they have 8+ applications running on it. People going from a basic phone to a blackberry are supposed to take 2 weeks to get used to it. most returns are within 3 days. (at least here).

Did your friend try installing any thirdparty apps? Some apps, especially Slacker Radio, do not seem to mesh well with the machine and make it even slower.

50%?
I work for Verizon and there was no 50% return rates on the Storm. It's one if the fastest selling BlackBerrys on out network.

Well what do you expect for an internal document? Should AT&T be telling its employees that a great new PDA is launching and is only available through Sprint, so make sure to direct your customers to a Sprint store to buy it?

I'm sure there were more than 1 comparison documents against the iPhone at all of the other carriers prior to its release.

Palm has gotten a bad reputation since the 750 was released with Windows. I will direct my customers to a blackberry or windows OS just as I am doing now, even when the Pre is released.

I don't think Palm would invent countries to have the Pre work in...

Sure we comparison documents at Sprint too, but it really was a no bs feature comparison and it was up to the reps to sell the phone properly. Sprint never did anything close to just making up stuff like at&t did. 205 Countries and a touch screen thats "not intuitive" even though its just like the iphones??? haha wtf??

Best part about that document is, well we have our phone in WHITE AND BLACK.... oh wow such a selling point... I'm pretty sure when iphone came out it was black only. And don't forget our plastic is forged by little 10 year olds in china way better that palm plastic....give me a break.

As one of the comments on there said about the GSM/CDMA comparison part, AT&T basically just said "Yo momma so fat she.....is fat"

It's still a Palm. Doesn't matter which provider has it. i agree with wizard....Windows OS or BB all day.

phone was made to compete with the iphone, not the bold or a touch fuze, so the Windows OS or BB statement is really irrelevant.

Yeah that's exactly right. Palm makes money off of all Blackberry and Windows device sales. The only competition Palm has is with the iPhone.

So yeah you're right, the Blackberry and Windows statement was completely irrelevant. 🙄

I won't call your statement a total failure, at least you could look up phone scoop and name one Blackberry device and one Windows based phone! GOOD JOB!!!
