Nice try AT&T
Highlights:
Apparently dragging and dropping is a terrible thing.
GSM works in more countries than there actually are (possible Moon roaming charges?)
Pre's Wi Fi use is limited because it's not free at Starbucks.
Limited business apps (I guess the >10 years previous don't count)
Pre's plastic is bad, but the iPhone's plastic is somehow better.
QWERTY buttons are somehow bad.
On a good note, this does mean that AT&T is taking the Pre seriously. They feel threatened already, and that's a very good thing.
The storm isn't a badly made phone. It had software issues, most of which were solved by the .75 release of software.
They bring the phone back complaining that it is slow and they have 8+ applications running on it. People going from a basic phone to a blackberry are supposed to take 2 weeks to get used to it. most returns are within 3 days. (at least here).
Did your friend try installing any thirdparty apps? Some apps, especially Slacker Radio, do not seem to mesh well with the machine and make it even slower.
I work for Verizon and there was no 50% return rates on the Storm. It's one if the fastest selling BlackBerrys on out network.
I'm sure there were more than 1 comparison documents against the iPhone at all of the other carriers prior to its release.
So yeah you're right, the Blackberry and Windows statement was completely irrelevant. 🙄
I won't call your statement a total failure, at least you could look up phone scoop and name one Blackberry device and one Windows based phone! GOOD JOB!!!
