SIM Cards

Iselltheshitoutofphones

Dear at&t customer service reps....

When a customer needs a new SIM card, please check to see if the neighborhhod store is a corporate store. If it is not, please find one or offer to mail one out.

I do not give free SIM cards, I will charge the customer $25 and call you to make a bill credit.

This does not provide a good customer expirence.

Love,

Will

Dear Fleance,
Will spelled one word wrong. You used the term "K" and ended your sentence with two periods.

Before you say anything I realize there is more than one word wrong. You still fail.

Dear Flea,

Find something better to do with your life than harrass someone who offers nothing but good information to this forum.

I wasn't aware trolls had fleas.

IMO make sense more. I enjoy writing on this forum. Trolls. The term used loosely is someone that never give useful information. Clearly you don't know what you are talking about because I give useful information all the time. For you, even though sometimes you give useful information too you tend to "troll" often as well. You basically trolled my comment. Thanks for your opinion on my opinion. Hope business is going well in Texas!

Someone that often gives useful information can still go trolling every now and then.

Also, that seems to be your own personal definition of a troll; which only covers a portion of a more commonly accepted, broader definition of a person that posts intentionally inflammatory messages to forums or chat rooms

Will-

Glad to see we're not the only store doing this exact procedure. I don't mind just calling it in. And the Care reps don't seem to mind just issuing the credit although I'm sure it's cheaper to mail one out.

I've also noticed some stores charging up to $50 for a SIM card, many in our area are doing $40. And they are within ten minutes of COR, at least we're a full hour away.

Love,

Jeremy

Agreed!

Wish they would give us the ability to override the price of a sim card.. sometimes its hard to get ahold of a manager to do it.

It's not just an override process with indirects, it's the fact that they get a limited supply of SIM cards and usually barely have enough to do the activations and upgrades they need to begin with.

AT&T sends them 10 SIM cards for every 10 phones ordered. A common technique is to order 1 more than every multiple of 10 phones (so instead of ordering 50, order 51) so they can get a bonus 9 SIM cards. But even these go fast from other situations.

Why are you b!tchin? At&t doesn't charge you for sim cards so why do you care? I understand you're trying to make money but get off your high horse. Its a sim card. There are much better things to complain about then a freakin sim card. I get sim cards but the hand fulls. I think I have over a 1000 in stock right now. Get over...

Actually we do charge for sim cards. They are 25.00 a piece.. however we have the ability to send them for free and COR agents with approval have the ability to give for free. Customer Care shouldnt be telling customers a store will do it for free WITHOUT contacting the store first... I always call first. If the agent cant give for free then i get a manager override to send for free.

i work for a dealer and we sell them for 25 also. depends on what happened to the sim card but most of the time i just give them for free, no big deal and if you tell the customer that your doing them a favor and saving 25 they will appreciate it and come back later to you

Thank you. Its not like at&t charges agents anything for the sim cards So what's the big deal with givin them for free. If some one puk's their sim or loses it then I understand the charge of $25. But don't b!tch about cust care putting a note on the account. This is why agents get such a bad name. I worked for COR for 3 years and at no point did I ever charge a cust for a new sim. So cust automatically think agents are a rip off because they can get them for free from COR. If you want to be as equal as COR then act like it...

Sir,

Thanks for climbing up my ass for nothing. The relevance of the post was to make sure CARE does their homework BEFORE mindlessly sending customers into a store, regardless of the point of distribution. Doing a 30 second store locator in the CSP would pay off in spades. Giving the customer eroneous information

Like you, I have hundreads of unopened packs sitting in my office. Sure I could give a free SIM away to everyone who walks in the store and still have plenty for activations or 2G to 3G upgrades. For MY customers, those I activate or upgrade do get a replacement SIM free of charge if the need arises. That is the benefit of doing business with me. Those who get mad over the charge typically are those who purchase from Wal-Mart...

Now in defense to reps.. sometimes a 30 second search turns into a 5 minute search because we are behind so many firewalls that when one of them goes down it halts EVERYTHING. By that time the customer just states "I know a store down the road i will go there" I usually set the expectation that I am not from there nor do I know if they will have that available... and note the account thoroughly.

Whatever. Your just like every agent snake. I hated agents because of guys like you. People don't like coming to a not COR store because of guys like you and you make all agents look bad when your an a$$ whole and take advantage of the system. I give free sim cards to cust who business with us as well as when it is noted on the account. If some one loses their sim or puk's it I charge them because it is their fault. But if Ccare notes the account saying please issue a sim for free then we do it. It just makes it look like to the cust that all though we aren't at&t COR that we still can offer services that they do. So again I say stop complaining about little sh!t!!!

And the next time AT&T decides to do a SIM "update" those 1000 will become obsolete and you will have to build back up your inventory.

AT&T does charge dealers for SIM chips ordered above and beyond the total amount of handsets purchased. AT&T also builds in the cost of the SIM chips into the cost of handsets (which is why handsets can be purchased elsewhere for cheaper).

Make sure you have your facts straight when you comment on something like this.

I do have the facts straight. My handsets are actually cheaper and I can seller them cheaper then what a COR location can. All 1000 of the sims are 64K 3G sim cards so I won't have any issues being able to use those. Don't come at me like that. I have been in the business for & years. I know what I'm talking about. That agent just give other agents a bad name because he doesn't help the cust out.

You think your handsets cost less than what they have them for "cost" at a corporate store? Why don't you do a little checking around before you tout your knowledge. Check out some of the phone distributors and what they charge for the same phones we sell without a "free" sim.

Better yet, next time you see Mr. Shanks ask him.

Whatever bro you don't know sh!T you're just some stupid Verizon Fan boy. Get over, I know what I'm talking about. You always take the forums off topic and talk sh!t to everyone. Get a life and stick to the original post. All I was saying is that the guy thinks cust care is making a bad name, but in all reality he is making a bad name for agents. It pisses me off.
