Current Verizon Customer

I am currently a Verizon customer thinking of switching back to ATT. My only question is whether or not ATT offers some sort of money back guarantee like Verizon where I could try their network beforehand and whether or not they're any restrictions?

Thanks

NO, there is not. Its like 3 days. If after 3 days you still charged for activation fee and usage. Still 30 day to return without etf.

You have a 3 day no cost trial. If you use your phone for 29 days then bring it back and cancel your service, you will be responsible for the service charges and any other fees (purchased ring tones, games, etc.)

I don't work for Verizon, but I would be highly skeptical of anyone who tells me that I can use their service free of charge any time I want, but I can only do it in 30 day chunks.

Think of all the people who would use abuse that. 30 days free, with the cost of the phone being a "deposit" that is returned.

Three days is more than enough time to try out a phone in your home, at work, at play. If you are not happy, return it. If you want to "test drive" it for a month, expect to pay for that month.

Thats a valid point. I had ATT when it was Cingular and didnt seem to like it. Can someone give me their opinions on the ATT network. Part of me wants to switch and get a new IPHONE though the other part of me is saying stick with Verizon.

Thanks

I don't know but I keep coming back to ATT. Although in my area (Sprint, VZW, TMO, Nextel) ATT is the most expensive but they do offer 'roll over minutes'.
Although the main two reasons I like ATT is big coverage area (US & overseas) and they are a GSM carrier so I can change phones as often as I want.
TMO also is a GSM carrier but their coverage is small and their 3G runs on 1700MHz, not to many phone makers make phones that run on TMO's 3G band yet.
Where as there are allot more phones available right NOW that work on ATT's 3G bands.
Voice quality on ATT has been great, customer service has been good as well. Although I'm not a big fan of the local retail store.
But hey if you need coverage within the US VZW is the one. And rumor has ...

I guess I am gonna have to do some more research. I currently live in the boston area.....Coverage seems to be great with Verizon although my parents have ATT sometimes their phone goes into something called Emergency mode and I cant for the life of me figure out why. Anyhoo you brought up good points. How much would the IPHONE cost under a new plan?

I decided to give Verizon a call and ask them what their policy is on trying phones. It is exactly the same as AT&T.

If you return the phone within three days, you are not responsible for any charges. After three days, you will be responsible for the activation fees as well as the prorated rate plan/features cost for the number of days you had the phone.

The network coverage will vary depending on your area, the best bet is for you to give it a three day test run. That's the only way you will know for sure (some phones have better RF than the iPhone so you really need to just see for yourself). If you like it, keep it. If not, return it, no harm no foul.

Yeah I live in the Boston area and I know for a fact that the coverage is spotty around here.

I'll stick with Verizon for now. Besides I hear that Verizon is getting the IPHONE next year.

Thanks

Just don't forget that rumors are just that. If you Google "Verizon iPhone" you can find blogs dated November 2007 saying that Verizon will have the iPhone within a year. So that rumor is already being recycled.

In an interview published in USA Today with Randall Stephenson, AT&T chairman titled "We're All About Wireless", it is noted that AT&T got an extension on it exclusive distribution deal with Apple into 2010.

Although a CDMA version of the iPhone is most likely under development, you won't see it in 2009.

I'm not an industry insider, but business is a strategy game, much like Chess. Apple wants to sell as many phones as possible.

When is the best time for Verizon to reclaim customers lost to AT&T? Twenty-four months after they signed a contract.

Don't expect an early 2010 release. One, first quarter everyone is recovering from Christmas bills. Two, a lot of people won't be willing to buy a new phone AND pay ETF. I would guess July 2010 Verizon releases the iPhone.

Apple gets the benefit of selling iPhones (again) to all the people who bought them two years prior (some of which had purchased the original iPhone as well). Verizon gets customers back it lost and a portion of AT&T customers who will follow the iPh...

As with Verizon if you port your number to VZ and withinn 30 days port back out to whomever you had before, you pay nothing. But that only works on ports. And yes at&t still has the same crappy reception as they did with Cingular. The storm will wax the iphone all day just wait for that to make your decision
