I am an Intelligent Individual who works for an IN-DIRECT DEALER......

There are many things I would like to say in order to clear a few things up regarding the COR side of AT&T's so-called Empire.

I will refrain from cursing or wishing death upon you all, Instead I will bless you all with some of My Irish Good luck and Will.

In case you are not aware, AT&T does not wish to see the indirect dealer survive much longer.

My Pay-rate and Commission was just altered (AGAIN) due to AT&T telling my boss the new pay-rate for features and wireline.

Thank You very much AT&T,

I have been selling wireline since I was hired 2 years ago, and bought into everything you told me and trained me on. I was dedicated to helping other employees learn more and understand how to make more money.

Things have chan...

I think the feature changes are a benefit to sales reps who do things the right way.

The biggest difference to you is this will wipe out your chargebacks. People can no longer flip something you've sold to screw you over and make themselves a buck for nothing. Those sales reps who DO flip are flat out screwed by these changes and I laugh at them. They're getting what they deserve, and now they have to be reputable to make anything.

My biggest beef with the changes is it hasn't closed all the loopholes. MB04 = MSG3 + MN21 in function and cost, yet they're all in different families. Those will continue to be flipped like crazy.

Yea, I hear ya....Not a big deal.

However, when the way my income is generated is completley changed, then it becomes a big deal.

I will no longer be working on commission.

I will be paid based upon store performance and a level of goals we need to reach..

I'm not bitching, cause Believe me, I know none of you actually care.

I get what your saying. The thing is with at&t, they have let themselves get screwed from flipping features for so long now, they didn't care really, they made money. Things are starting to change in the world if you haven't noticed. Everyone has a cell phone, this business has already peaked as for cellular phones. They are going to try to get their money anywhere they can now and MAKE us earn ours. If you are indeed a good sales person you will be fine. Learn how to sell other features besides just trying to get them to switch from one package to another while getting paid on it. Dont get me wrong, it was nice! But, those days are done. Learn how to become a better sales person or find another job. Only the strong will survive!! 🙂

It's not about Features...........

Once again, I am one of the leading sales agents in my market....

So dont' tell me with a big fat smile on your face to learn how to do my damn job.

For instance,

Me and my co-worker, just lost a Quad Play sales because we are not allowed to process the order, because it was for his Business...

Now tell me,

How big of a joke is that, and how stupid does AT&T feel and look now that we wasted 45 minutes of the customers time in our store.

So now, since this happened, he's going with Comcast...

Get the point...

2 + 2 = 4

We are now based on a Gross Profit pay scale that will work once the bugs are worked out. ATT is going to get a rude awakening when they go from 36.00 per opp to 10.00 per opp. without "feature upgrades". I'm sure you'll see it go back to the old way when they don't hit their mark.

I don't know about that. It's not like people aren't still going to have the features on their accounts. They just aren't paying the reps for them every six months which will increase profits for AT&T. For those of us in stores trying to hit sales targets it's going to be much much harder. I have actually started doing calls to try and get paid with people stopping overages on their bills which I never had to do before. I used to be able to just us the overages of the walk-ins to hit my goals.

I with a dealer and they have trouble communicating. Can anyone tell me what all the families are and wht features go to what family?

Thanks.

What we have been told is that it doesn't matter what feature family the feature belongs to but the price of the feature. If you "upgrade" a feature that is 29.99 to 30.00 all your store gets is a penny. Also if a feature like Unl MediaNet $15 and Unl Text $20 is "upgraded" to MediaMax $35 you get nothing. I understand why they are doing this but they do have to explain to their shareholders why they are not hitting their goals. Activations are great but features are revenue drivers for most cell companies. If they really are insecure about their sales they should load all the plans with unlimited everything from the start. That way they hit their revenue and the customers are less likely to get overages. You may have to pay more upfr...

Hmmm.....I wonder why features are down?

2 Reasons, Plain & Simple

1. The American Mobile phone user does not fully understand the capabilities of there device and how it can work for them when using features. I know agents try their hardest and DO educate their customers on how much they can actually do on their phone. However, the way it all started with free phones that could never really do much, has CURSED the American Cell phone User. It took me 7 Years, (Before I started here I almost got rid of my mobile) to realize that my phone is actually like a mini computer and can be used for all sorts of stuf.

2. THE ECONOMY, THE DOLLAR, & The State of Affairs in this country. People are on budgets and I don't blame them one bit. ...

I think we work for the same dealer...

I don't know about you, but the way that our dealer is doing things makes it so that the top producers (like me, and you if you are who I think you are), stand to lose around 8k/year, or more. Then they go and try to fix that problem and only make it worse! I feel your pain.

AT&T didn't change your comp plan, your dealer principal changed your comp plan. How does that equal that AT&T is trying to kill indirect distribution? And you lost a business sale? You haven't been able to ever do a business sale like that. In fact they recently allowed us to access even larger accounts. They are also allowing us to activate national numbers.

You might need to discuss things with your principal first before pointing fingers at AT&T.

In this region (Central, North Texas) the payouts for new acts and upgrades went up for bigger plans and down for $39.99/$29.99. FT statyed about the same. Upgrades also stayed the same but are nowhere near what we get paid for new acts.

Once again,

Anybody want to acknowledge why FEATURES are going to become an even bigger problem than they are now.

It's absolutley halarious, that people are trying to point out my Dealer, when It's AT&T that changed their pay rate on features...& Since AT&T changed the pay, he had to change the pay....GET IT...2 + 2 = 4....

It's not hard to do the math...

But in case you all missed the real point..

The world is changing, The economy is changing and that is what is really going on here.

Peace

DUDE!

I OWN stores an a dealer. I know what they pay and AT&T did NOT lower the pay. If you want to say they lowered the pay by fixing the feature flipping issue then so be it. Technically that is not lowering anything. If you sell new features to customers versus flipping existing stuff then that should only be a benefit to you.

You want us to look at your math but you are unwilling to acknowledge the fact that AT&T lowered nothing. Does your dealer principal share his schedule C with you? I share it with my employees so that commissions are transparent. If there is a real change they see it in my contract.

You THINK you know what is going on but for some reason I believe you do not know the big picture.

I appreciate your response, makes sense when you look at it like that.

It's however you want to look at it.

By the way, It's really cool of you to be open with your employee's and that's probably why you succeed and your staff is happy..

You see what I was saying, and I see what your saying...

Thanks Texaswireless...

Keep up the good work!
