iPhone & FAN Discount

I just picked up an iPhone and they said the FAN discount would continue. However, it does not show up online as a discount is being applied. Prior it usually displayed the "originally" and "monthly cost" to show the discount.

Will this show up on the next billing cycle or do I need to talk to the people at the AT&T store?

Thanks
Mark

I am afraid you have been misinformed. The FAN discount does not apply to the Iphone. When you view your account online it will still show you FAN number but the discount wont be applied.

Yup apple stores are supposed to refer you to a COR store for purchase but of course they are not going to do that instead they say.. call ccare to remove the fan then you can call back to get it reapplied.. which is NOT TRUE.

Actually no he is NOT correct. I just received my first bill since signing up with AT&T and getting an iPhone. I received my 20% discount on the calling plan AND the $30 iPhone plan. So YES, you do get a discount on the iPhone. This has changed with the 3G iphone as AT&T no longer gives a portion of the monthly service charges to Apple. Instead, they are willing to give customers a discount if their employer is contracted with them.

ATT's policy is to honor FAN discounts on 3g iPhone accounts that are Corporate Responsibility accounts, (meaning your company is responsible for the bill) For Individual Responsibility 3g iPhone accounts (meaning you pay the bill, but get a discount b/c of your company) the FAN discount does not apply. If you are currently getting a discount on an IRU account, enjoy it while you can, they are running sweeps every month to "catch" and remove those discounts.

I still think that is incorrect. Looking at the Premier website for individual responsibilty accounts, it shows that you get a discount. If you really didn't, why would it show the $30 iPhone plan as "$24, originally $30". Also, looking at my contract it says nothing in there about a FAN discount not being applicable to iPhones. However, looking at my first contract for the original iPhone, there is specific verbiage to the fact that FAN discounts are NOT applicable.

Mattmgeorge and Dromant are correct to be honest. The new iPhone does get a discount on both voice and data.

And I'm sure Dromant meant the first iPhone. Considering the new one gets both the discounts. I meant to clarify that in my above post.
