just discount the VU and watch what happens. don't feel bad, if you are a dealer and you're selling the iPhone you're not getting any commission. (thats the reason our company isn't carring it.)

fight against it with the blackberry. Our location is doing the curves free after rebate, and just taking the hit on margin, but making it up with features. Unlimited text and data on the Blackberry is $50 in features (pays out 150), and it's easy to talk people out of the iphone, seeing as it's really not that impressive in the first place. I'm actually glad we aren't carrying it!

I agree totally!

I am glad I don't sell the phone. I don't want to mess with the hype or the downfall that will come with it. Good agents will do their research and find the flaws and push other devices that will do so much more. Alot of stores are offering crazy deals on these other devices. It is worth it to shop around and not just jump on the bandwagon.

Point out that iPhones do not have a removeable battery, so if they freeze up, they will have to take them to a technician.

Point out that the iPhone is BT 2.0+EDR but does not support A2DP which is required for stereo bluetooth (Curve and Pearl do support A2DP).

The smartphones can play all sorts of media files, I own a Curve and the free Roxio Media Manager provided converts files if needed. I have tried avi, mov, mp4, mp3, mpg. They all play perfectly.

Pearl can voice record and video record (so will the Curve after a free 2.5 upgrade I believe).

iPhones are locked into the $30 data plan for the entire length of their contract. If someone decides six months down the road that they want to drop the PDA data plan, they have t...
