pricelss

From my understanding, only people who are out of contract, or within 3 months of contract end will be eligible to upgrade to iPhone 3G. Is this true? If any rep. knows please clarify.

Well, yes and no. For most people, getting the 3G Iphone will be just like getting any other phone. You will need to be either setting up new service, or be eligible for a standard upgrade on the existing line. The exception to this is current Iphone users. If you already have the original Iphone, you can sign a new contract and get the 3G Iphone at the discounted price when it comes out July 11.

There are also rumors floating that if your not eligible you can upgrade at a different price, said to be $175 higher.

Yes I have heard that as well. And you will still be required to add the $30.00.

Apparently you have never worked in the retail store. Everyday people just want a phone that looks a certain way. They have NO intention of using any or all of the features on the phone. If you pay full retail you shouldn't have to keep a feature on your account if you don't want or need it.

If you don't want the feature then don't pay retail on the iPhone. Get a Nokia 2610.

I work for AT&T as a training and no this is not true. You may have to pay 175.00 if you cancel your existing service if you are still in contract. Other than that no.

At the time that was the rumor. It's now known to be a higher price point, even more than the $175, gay.

I know it is crazy expensive.... really if anything... all I can tell ya is if you wait a few months once people stop caring about it the price will go down. This happened when the original iphone came out.

It took a little while and I doubt the pricing will go down in "a few months".

Not gay. And the higher price is 200 more.

Sure, you could cancel your service for 175, and also lose your phone number, and then buy an iPhone for 199, but then you have a 36 activation fee. So guess what? You just paid 410 for the iphone when you could have just saved time and effort and spent 400 instead.

Did anyone read our Methods and Procedure policy on that as well? And Ash you forgot to mention the prorated charges as well as well as the bill in advance charges because they would be bill in advance, plus they'd have the last account to pay and the phone price? Ha, people have money now days.
