been w/ the company for almost 3 years and I've loved every bit of it! They take care of their employees. At least here in VA. Can't speak for other markets but our upper management team values us cause we make them money so they take good care of us.

I'm not sure about sales, but working for the network has gotten worse since we became one company. Health benefits suck! We also have no incentives, company sponsored events, and it's rumored that we'll loose our great vacation package next year. They've really got to step it up on our end...

it's the same in sales. they have done more rewards things but insurance is horid. quotas have gotten unreachable (no one in our store has hit all numbers since dec.) they aren't they aren't expanding the network so now t-mobile is the only one with less coverage than us in this area, even nextel works better down here. they are bragging about record profits for the company but they are still funneling t...

I have been working for the company (retail) for 1 1/2 years...I made 52k last year and that was bring home, I have a $350 pair of glasses that I only payed $15 for and that was for the eye exame, I get the days off I want on a weekly basis, and every one in my store works together to help eachother make money...I have never had such an awsome job in my life. I have heard horror stories so I think it all depends on the people in the store and the market you work in.

you act like this is something new... it's not. after cingular bought at&t wireless (which licensed the name from at&t corp.) sbc(which owned 60% of cingular) bought at&t corp and changed it's name to at&t. they wanted to sell wireless as at&t instead of cingular so they could have only one brand to advertise but bellsouth owned teh other 40% and wouldn't allow it so at&t bought them out. you haven't stumbled upon anything new. no one here is impressed with your discovery.

Don't be sorry. Just because I said it in the Shop Talk forum doesn't mean you can't say it here. Besides, it's public knowledge (although apparently not common knowledge). If we're both saying the same things, that's simply confirmation for anyone else reading.

Wasn't trying to impress then just inform them.

The carrier has the name AT&T but they are really the old Cingular. So nothing is really new with the carrier in service, etc. Just a new name. Right ?

There have been changes in plans and policies since that date. Companies, like organisms, constantly evolve to survive in the market.

If you really wanna dig into things, the current AT&T more closely represents the original AT&T (pre 1984) than did the entity know as AT&T from 1984-2005.

AT&T wireless, that you had initially signed up with, wasn't even associated with AT&T. They were just paying to use their name.

There have been many manifestations of AT&T. It's never been a secret about who sits behind the mask, but the public is generally stupid and blind. It's good that you're looking into things like this now and you shouldn't limit it to just your cell phone provider. Investigate all the companies you give your hard earn...

Thanks for the info. Guess I'm one of the stupid customers who thought with the name AT&T is was the "big" company and wireless was just under the umbrella.

verizon turned att

It is the worst company I have ever worked for, because I work in a call center and there are no verizon wireless based call centers in ny metro area I switched to att. Att is unprofessional and has to be the worst company I have ever worked with unorganized and just plain old bad, I am ready to do retail at verizon just to be in that company again.

I'm an old Dobson employee just brought into the AT&T family and it's not too bad. I enjoy my job for the most part and the benefits are nice. AT&T overall is honestly a good company and they take care of their employees and customers.

Been here going on a year now. I work on the retail side of things and i love it. Im in a lower teir store cause of location down here in North Carolina but i love it. Im the manager and pay is good for me my employee makes good money and we are both happy and selling stuff. I turn anywhere from $800 to $3000 a month and double that over big holidays cause im in a mall location. ATT is a great company to work for i have friends that work for sprint verizon and alltell and none of them get the service i get from my upper managment and my pay so i am very pleased and will work here for as long as i can.

800-3000 in commission on top of your salary, right? If you've ever made 800 for a month... well you might as well quit.

yes thats on top of the salary. and slow months kill ya man but 800 for a month on commission for me is still like 90% of my total individual monthly quota that i have to hit so its not to bad. those months is when the salary comes in handy.
