I've got my old GSM card in my new 6555 OOPS bad idea!! Just finished figuring out why my email, web use, and basically ALL data traffic has sucked - I'm not on the UMTA network at all-just using the GSM. Corporate store gave me a new sim card free that's UMTA. Both say 3g, butthey're different inside- the old card could not use the newer high speed network.

If your in EDGE territory the UMTS updates in SIM cards shouldnt matter anyway. By the way $50 is a great price for that phone.

FEO I'm pleased - bought a refurb online for a 2 yr contract renewal .. still getting used to it. My area apparently has issues with UMTS network - I'm getting "link not available try again later message", and yahoo/media net/ online news is not connecting at all. soft crashing yahoo in fact. I really like the feel and its a great phone to handle for texting-keys n screen size/resolution are superb. Although - the slick shiny surface worries me a tad when it comes to either scratching(I can handle some but will it get BAD? or slip and droppage).

I'm also wondering about using Opera mini-does it have to be unlocked? I bought a sandisk 2gig memcard at radioshack for 25 .. so far so good. I haven't invested in the peripherals ie blueto...

Im glad you like it! The only issue I have seen with that phone is the battery life but Have not seen any issues lately. You do not have to unlock the phone to get opera mini just go to
mini.opera.com
on your media net browser.
