New BlackBerry for AT&T
That's what the "G" in GSM stands for "Global".
What I am looking for, or more accurately hoping for, is a BlackBerry that covers the 7 bands that Samsung Blackjack II utilizes.
This seems like a lot of trouble to go through to use the phone in only two extra countries.
Use Wikipedia, or Google, or heck PhoneScoop even has a glossary for you to look up GSM.

The G in GSM most certainly does stand for Global.

The "G" does stand for "Global" but cell phones can access 7 cellular frequency bands. Also, unfortunately, Japan and South Korea are two countries which are not included in the over 190 countries that use the common 4 GSM bands that quad band phones use. I also have to travel to these places often and when I go there my GSM only BlackBerry will not work.

But it's the truth, G in GSM in does stand for Global.
You just said that he said the "G" does not stand for "Global". Now you're saying the opposite.
You said the G stands for Global.
KMC agreed with you.
You restated your previous comment as if someone had disagreed with you.
Crackberry pointed out your error.
You incorrectly stated what KMC said.
I pointed out your error.
Then you kept being confusing, and here we are now.

My company will only use BlackBerry phones and they also use AT&T cellular, or whatever their name really is. My current BlackBerry phone for work use, the 8700C, is coming to the end of its usefulness. Does anyone know if BlackBerry is going to come out with a new phone for use on AT&T that is world compatible, right now it needs both GSM and WCDMA?
why do you need WCDMA? all the blackberries sold by at&t will work just like the 8700 you have. all quadband.
The Tilt has BlackBerry Connect preinstalled (out of the box) while the Q would require a download from AT&T website. If you go this route and choose the Tilt, there is a recent firmware upgrade from HTC's website that improves BlackBerry Connect performance (in case responses from this posting tell you BlackBerry Connect is horrible).
Just two options if you can't wait until a 3G BlackBerry arrives.
