Technical question for AT&T representative.

Anyone out there known how the edge connection works on a partnered tower? Some days I will have a connection, other days none or very slow. Can the data be switched off on one tower to increase network bandwidth somewhere else? Also, what is the relation to signal strength vs. download speed, I mean it is a digital transfer right? Wouldn't two bars be just as good as five? Thanks for any info you can share.

As for data being shut off on one tower to increase bandwith, that would only affect 3G speeds. With edge, it does not matter because the speeds are usally gonna be the same regardless of the situation. With signal stength vs download speed, it does effect data usage but not voice usage. While it is a digital transfer, if the signal strength is low then the data transfer speeds are going to be low as well. Same rule apllies if you have five bars,
