Has anyone gotten this to work? I tried by the book and it keeps dumping me back to the motomixer screen. It will not let me edit or create ringtones. The store has tried other V400's and the same.

It's a motorola problem. I haven't seen one work yet. Contact them and ask them why it doesn't work.

Their response after trying a billion different things is one, I did not have enough free memory...ummm 5.2 megs is not enough?

So after I politely educated the rep, his supervisor advised me to send the the phone, less the battery, back case and any accessories, back to their Texas repair center. I advised him that NO Moto 400 we tested in the store's motomixer worked.

None of us can get ours to work either.

Our are Motorola rep was at our meeting this morning and he cited 3 problems with the v400:

Motomixer

Battery life

Display freeze-ups

Other than that it's an awesome phone. My battery is so so, and my motomixer is not functional, but who cares?

Hmm my battery life is quite good overall. The screen freeze I have yet to see. The motomixer not working is an irritation but one I can live with.

The phone is great IMHO.

Yeah I called back and spoke with another technician and he swore that the motomixer work, so much so that he used his phone and tried to use the motomixer and to his amazement, it did not work. Well needless to say, he was quite shocked and the mud on his face proved it.

Same here in So. Cal. The motomixer will not work and the screen does stop a lot. I have called Moto a few times and each time I call they have no idea what I am talking about and they tell me that I am doing something wrong.

Other than that it's a great phone

Anyone heard anything further on this? Moto is telling me I have to send my phone to them(at my expense) for them to load the motomixer software. I don't understand why they can't simply send the software out to local stores and let the techs there load the software. Saves time and money. I don't know about the rest of you but I need my phone so no way am I shipping it to Texas so they can fix their mistake.

the phone is fine, you have to have the mobile phone tools software that moto sales to use it.

Yeah, I've heard you have to have a midi saved on the phone in order for it to work, and the v400 doesn't get shipped out with any default midi files. Therefore, it won't appear to work.
