Besides price point, what is the difference between unlimited MediaNet and PDA or BlackBerry Unlimited?

Both offer unlimited internet and data.

Media Net is used for handsets like the razors. PDA plans are used for PDAs and smartphones to allow for the correct use of the device. BB plans then are required for internet and mail use on BBs. Now in systems you can't provision a feature that isn't supported by the device to avoid paying an extra 15 dollars a month for the correct feature plan depending upon if its a BB or PDA

Thats reason enough right there to buy an unbranded unlocked device not carried by the carrier. You are not forced into a data plan using a smart phone with email.

access point. with media net you are proxied into the server. with pda and bb you given access as an isp would (with at&t being your isp). bb is priced the same as pda but works a little different as you must go through blackberry.net for bb email.

I had a Blackjack and MEdia Net. It worked fine. When I called to boost my messaging (had MEdia Max 200 and was going to MEdia Max Unlimited), they told me I'd have to switch to a PDA/Smartphone plan because if I didn't, my internet would not work right. This was after I had had it for 6 months without any problems.

Exactly my point. There seems to be no real justification as to why the PDA and BlackBerry data plans are priced higher.

Forget your unlimited voice battle, lower the PDA and BB Data plans by 10.00 a month, THAT'S CHANGE!

They are looking at moving the BB unlimited to $20 but they probably won't. Until people stop using the data plans then ATT might lower them. Don't expect it unless VZW does first.

Good grief! Sounds like the gas stations in my area, one raises the price a nickel, all of them do.

also, 2 years ago data was 49.99 then 44.50 then dropped to 39.99 now 30.00. plus you can use it pretty much anywhere. your dsl or cable provider doesn't do that........
