So... I am looking to upgrade & I think I am losing my way. This has never happened to me before. I usually see one phone & buy it. But now I am at a standstill! I am trying to find a decent phone with a 2mp camera (or a REALLY good 1.3) & at least 10 mb of storage. I have PLENTY of contenders & price is definately a factor. I dont want to spend more than $250. So here is my conundrum. I cant decide! I have this Post-It on my monitor with a list of some phones to chose from. Some of the phones are:

Nokia N75
Samsung U600
Nokia 6270
Nokia 6282
BB Pearl

Here is a link to my phone history.

They're all pretty great phones, but I'm only familiar with the Pearl and N-75. Most everyone I know who has a Pearl loves it, unless the trackball falls out, exposing the motherboard. And most N75 owners are pleased, except when the plastic on the hindge cracks and they learn it's not covered under warranty.
But I say Pearl, simply because I've seen it to be most reliable.

The Pearl or the Curve is my best buy. I've noticed an increase in reception that I have only seen from a Nokia. In an area that is white on ATT's coverage viewer I have been getting 1-2 Bars. The N75 is good but wait for the N95 or get it unlocked. I usually offer the Pearl or Curve first (the price is right and the features are good) then move to Nokia phones then other PDA's then LG, Samsung, and Motorola last(worst reliability). If email and texting are important the Curve or Pearl are very worthwhile.

8310 curve (titanium 🙂). hands down. doesn't look goofy, blackberries are build for durability, decent camera, full qwerty.

the pearl is (not to offend anyone) but kinda a chick smartphone.

plus the new rate is just $30 for unl data!

and the sale right now $100 after a $100 MIR, really can't be beat dude!

So do I, but I like red. I had a CU500 and went to the Pearl. Red is a power color.

The curve is too large for my taste. Size is also a factor. I used to have an 8525, and I loved it. Its bulky size and crappy camera made me ditch it. Say I decide that I dont want to do data, like email and such. Would you still recommend the Pearl? or should I go with something else?

The 6555 has a crap camera. The W580 is the walkman version of the S500i, which I already own...

So it seems like the Pearl is the most reccomended for me. Now here is my question: Do I have to have the data package? I dont need it. I work from home. No need for email forwarding. No need for internet usage. Nice screen and camera are the importnat things for me. Pearl seems to be a good idea since I text alot.

You DO NOT need the data package to use the phone for calls and sms. You may not get a rebate back, and won't be able to picture message though.
