My experience with Cingular so far (please tell me they don't suck)!

I guess the fact that I only have 30 days to decide and then I'm locked for 2 years with this kind of customer service has got me a little freaked out....I wish T-Mobile's coverage was better here....
If you have had coverage problems in the past, then have you called T-Mobile to alert them of such issues? They will take all the information on a trouble ticket and have their engineers clear it up if their should legitimately be an issue of sorts.

Been there, done that. They tell me 'no known issues' in new orleans. Also everyone I know with tmobile has either switched or has terrible reception (or none in some places - places where someone with a cingular phone has great service).
I think I responded to another post of yours in the T-Mobile forum. You said you have motorola phones? I'm almost certain a major part of your problem is going to lay in the phone. I switched from a Motorola to a samsung and all the sudden I started getting signal/coverage in places I was not able to before...like in my house. I've used my T-Mobile casually in New Orleans before such as the airport, the route to and from, the quarter, and garden district. H...

About the gait phone plans...Gait phones can now be placed on the GSM plans, which are a much better deal. 😉
...and I keep trying to relay that across to the stubborn woman, too! She has been calling me to "remind her" to talk to me about it, but when I start talking it's "oh I didn't mean now, honey-I have to finish a project for work"..or...something like that lol

I'll know for sure soon. I'm going to try the same phone on the cingular network when I get the phone (sim)..
1 or 2 days will tell the tale...
You should've just gone in the store and had a rep help you.

Yeah..."latter" is the second of two choices. "former" is the first of two choices.
JessiGenius,
Thanks for clarifying that up oh dear grammer teacher....However, I was asking the guy what was the latter thing he was referring to specifically. 😳
He was reffering to how "online ordering shouldn't exist at all." check the post above his reponse.

And he's right! For a company of the size and stature that "The New Cingular" brings to the table, if their is still this type of "high on retard pills" b.s. going on then you really have a serious problem.
And you're overusing the "high on retard pills" phrase..it's no longer witty...xD

i never said I didn't agree at all...Don't point this at me.

Not pointing this at you personally. Pointing this to Cingular as a whole.

I'm new here but I'm guessing you (JessiCSR) work for tmobile?
Wrong! She works for Cingular. I can tell because she immediately shoots me down when I have posted Cingular Sucks allover these forums.

Actually no. I work for Cingular. But I don't do the "WOOOHOOO CINGULAR IS THE BEST BECUASE I WORK FOR THEM! *HEADBUTT*" Crap.

OK, ""WOOOHOOO CINGULAR IS THE BEST BECAUSE (JessiCSR) WORKS FOR THEM! *HEADBUTT*"
Hey, you asked for it!

perhaps you should learn the difference between 'their' and 'there', and possibly 'they're' as well before tossing phrases like 'high on retard pills' around.
OK PROFESSOR, THE POINT WAS CINGULAR SERVICE, NOT GRAMMAR. Make no mistake Cingular Customer Serive sucks bad!

🤣 🤣 Man, you can't seem to get it even when you try.

I ordered a motorola phone (free with 2yr. activation) online from cingular and requested they port my number from TMobile. I checked with cingular on the phone before I did this and they said they don't actually port the number until you have the phone, that way you don't lose service at all. Anyway one week later I call to check the order status - all I basically did was create an order online. Nothing was done. So here we go....they do a credit check (supposed to be done already), put the number in for porting and tell me to call a number to check in 1 hr. I call the number in an hour and notice my tmobile phone now has no service (so much for waiting til you have the phone to port). This person can't ev

I live in the New Orleans area in Louisiana.
What model phone were you using with them? Was it one of the real older ones? That could contribute to the issues with reception you may have been experiencing.

I am using a motorola v300. I know this is a good phone. The sim is from a previous samsung phone i had with tmobile...
The Sim may or may not be the issue. But on the end of the phone, Moto v.300 is not a good phone man. I have a colleague in the DFW metro suffering through with that phone along with another friend in Miami, FL who recently upgraded to a Moto v.180. I strongly suggest going back to T-Mo and u/g'ing your phone. Let me know what the outcome of this situation turns out to be.

maybe we can lend you some advise about the phone and plan so you don't have to come back in a month with a problem and a large bill!
just to make sure you know since it is a common issue. CANADA AND MEXICO are not part of your plan and you will roam internationally when you are in those areas.
you will have a large first bill.
it will have a prorated charge for the first few days of service and a full charge for your month in advance service charge as well as an activation fee.
depending on when your billing cycle starts and ends it will determine the actual charge.
i.e. if your billing cycle ends on the 15th of every month and you signed up service on the 10th then you will have 5 days of charges which is $39.99/30 = $1.33 x 5 = 6.6...
