3g in 850 Freg.

I was just told by a tech rep that 3g will change this summer from 1900 to 850 for a stronger signal. He said it will still be 3g but will work off the gsm network. Any comments?

3g is not gsm. 3g=wcdma. This is very possible, they did the same thing with gsm.
