Millions of mobile phones were designed and manufactured all over the world for years. Nokia, Samsung and others make world class phones that we all use and love in the United States and elsewhere. BUT when a US company with US engineers put our minds to something, we can beat the pants off anybody else in the world. Heck we will beat the pants of ET if he showed up. This goes for everything we make and do in the US. We have the best work force, best technology, best government (I know, I know) best people and best country on this Gods green earth. That is the best part about the iphone. Not that is unlike anything else in the world. Not that 1 in a 1000 people are surfing on the internet within 6 months of its release. Heck without Micros...

Its not the iPhone thats "cool" It's Apple who suckered mindless followers into a phone that doesn't do anything particularly as well as the best technology out there such as Nokia who makes phones that make the iPhone look like it's made by Mattel.
Here is the king of players that offers a phone many buy for $600!!! ($100 MORE then my N82) which does not even support stereo BT headphones!!!

America is more about marketing and being "cool" than innovation and technology. Mst who bought the iPhone were not even aware of the Nokia N95 which beats the iPhone technologically.
Touch screen big deal. My Triton keyboard had that 10 years ago. LOL. I will put the Nokia N82 without 3G up...

They did not even know the Nokias existed for the most part. The IPhone is a lot like Verizon. Easy to market. Everyone has it and likes it. Don't really want to research other choices. Just go along with the crowd. It's okay for some. But not for me. I demand choices and will give up something for it.If it's network capability so be it. Because I know all networks will be equal some day as they build out. But the days of a phone being just a phone are over. They are so much more.
