This merger has brought out the worst of people. I think MANY of you can agree.

Lets look at it from 2 different point of views:

Industry insiders, i.e. CS Reps, Dealers etc...

many of you have stated that ATTWS came to a crashing halt because of freebies right & left. You often compare this thing like:
1. Your car dealership doesn't give you a free car because you paid your payments for XX amount of months
2. Your cable company doesn't give a free TV cuz of the same reason

Its a well known fact that its the little things that count. My car company let me refinance my payments for a lower PAR & my cable company gave me 6 months of FREE HBO.

Consumers:

You CONSTANTLY say... "GIVE ME A FREE RAZR!" or "WHERE AR...

Actually I dont want something for nothing. I was just stating a fact. I have had adelphia cable for a few years now & have only gotten hbo free ONCE. The reason I got it free was because I was without service for 3 weeks & that is what they GAVE me for being inconvenienced....AND I DID NOT EVEN HAVE TO ASK FOR IT

I am not a cheap person. I believe you get what you pay for. If you dont pay for it, dont expect to much. But if you are paying alot, expect the best quality.

I'm cheap too. But there is some leeway in some markets. Say it like it is & sometimes you will get favors, especially if you've paid your bill all along.

Awhile back, I went to cancel the newspaper as the times were tight. They offered me a FREE month if I stayed 2 more months. Well I've stayed years as financial obligations dramatically improved. That's just an example, but sometimes inquiring works. It's their decision for you to take or leave. I expected nothing in return.

As for cell companies, I've had freebies extended by ATTWS. I didn't request them, but through casual conversation I got a free leather case, free travel charger, and a free headset. I would have paid for them too, but if I didn't take them free someone else woul...

Awhile back (for another carrier I think) on this fourm, there was a similar conversation about cutomer loyalty, and getting freebies...

I wholeheartly agree with you, I love freebees and if one company is gonna give me something to stay or another will offer me something to switch I'll take it (provided their services are the same) forget customer loyalty! 😈

For once I agree with Debit. In Europe we pay for our phones. Of course the technology isn't changing every year... only the features. I have an old (and I mean old) Nokia in Germany that still works, and it actually works as well as one of my new Nokias

There's a difference, though, between being offered and accepting a freebie, and calling in demanding/begging for it. A lot of customers would get a lot more if they knew how to handle themselves. A 39.99 customer in his second month of service will get more with the right attitude than a 7-yr 99.99 customer.

Hey, if Comcast is your cable company & you refer them a customer you WILL get a free months service. That's $50 in my neighborhood. 😁

In my opinion there is no such thing as cheap.
We are the bargain hunters, thrifty shoppers, resourceful thinkers, frugal philosophers, and coupon cutters.

I don't ever expect to get anything for free either, but if it's offered I'll take it!

(Hey-if I can get 2 for the price of one if all it takes is going through the sunday paper and finding it: if that mean's I'm cheap so be it 🙂 )

P.S. GO DOLLAR GENERAL!! 😁
