Insurance question...

Our dog just chewed up my fiance's phone 🤣
It still works but not well. We just upgraded in May so I know he can't again. Question is, if he calls and makes an insurance claim should he tell the truth or say he lost it? Also he has the 6126 and really doesn't like it, are they going to give him that phone again or replace it with the 6555?

Tell them the truth. The insurance covers ANYTHING that happens to the phone. As far as getting a 6555, the insurance is like-for-like. If they do not have any 6126 in stock, they will give you a phone of equal features and value. The 6555 might be a replacement. They normally will NOT give you the option. You could just save the $50 deductable and buy a 6555 at retail on the website for $200 (comes with a $50 mail-in rebate) or a reburbished model for $130. You could also order a prepaid 6555 for $175 and just pop your sim card into it. Many different options.

Thank you! That is VERY helpful 😁

I think that he might wait it out til he's eligible for an upgrade or his contract runs out. Then we will migrate to a family plan. He just really liked the 6555 so I was wondering if that is the replacement since I know the 6126 is probably ending soon.

Call Asurion and ask what the replacement is. You might be surprised. The number is 8665628662.
