Why do people freak out when we tell them we cant access other peoples accounts?

I really don't understand the mindset of people. If I went into a bank and asked to look into someone else's account other than mine, they would have security escort me out of the place! I don''t think I will ever understand the retardation of our society.... thank god I'm done working in this industry in 2 more days.

I don't think people do it on purpose. A lot of people are like me and are partners on a line and obviously woudn't know the last four digits of the account holders SOC, so there should be other ways to be able to ask questions about the account even though we aren't the main account holders. Some companies don't have account passwords, so that doesn't always apply.

the thing is,it dosnt matter if your partners on a line you cant change the account because its not yours to change...im so glad the FCC passed the law the requiers photo ID now to access the account...and if your not a authorized user you cant get in...I had a customer come in with her "doughter" to do some upgrades...I vrified the last four of social...turns out the doughter was her niece and her mother ( the customer sister ) was on vaca and her sister (the customer) new her last four of social...the mother who was the actual account holder was pissed

There are other ways, it is called an "Authorized User". The account holder can add authorized users with customer service or most AT&T locations (even some agents).
