Is it true that the $100 rebate on pda phones(Curve, blackjack,etc) which require unlimited data plan would still be valid if the data plan is cancelled soon after activation?

well, you at least have to have it at the time att receives the rebate, and who knows how long that could take

Check your rebate status online, once the rebate has been approved you can safely pull it.

bw careful, i had a customer three months ago who pulled the data plan after they got their rebate and they got billed for the $100 on their next bill for violating the rebate policy. if you read the fine print it must stay on for at least 6 months. depending on what phone you get you can get a Media max plan or a unl texting plan that is cheaper and won't kill your bill. don't get caught up in trying to beat the system, read all the fine print and make the right decision.
