I am really upset.... Got scewed over on my bill because of my best friend loosing her job, and not being able to pay her bill, and going WAY over. So, now my bill is probably about 1500.00 because I havent been able to pay it.......

I want my at&t back, I was forced to swich to spint because of this, its going to take me some time to pay this off..........Sprint is evil!

Is there anyway other way than pre-paid or signing up under someone else, to get the service back, while paying the other account....

I'm not trying to cheat At&t out of their money, its my fault, I owe it to them, and I want to pay.... So, any suggestions would be really helpful. 😢 😢 😢

Your best bet, if you do not want to do postpaid, is to contact Customer Care and have them put you through to Collections. You may be able to work out a payment schedule with them to get your service back.

Never, ever, ever let a friend go on your cell plan! It's a really bad idea for just this exact reason.

They say they have been sending me bills, but I haven't gotten them.... They have the correct address, but for some unknown reason ive never been able to get a paper bill from them......

I just want my AT&T back...I wish their prepaid wasn't so expensive.... Because I would get that until I can pay off all this money....

They want 3 payments of $500.00 each.. Cant afford that either....it will take forever, but ill have to pay about 40.00/mo.....

Sigh....Anyone have any suggestions????

That's over three years. It's just not realistic for you. Why would a company let you add to the bill you can't pay in the first place? For that matter you can't get on the lowest rate plan for $40 a month, meaning your $1500 would continue to sit there.

$40 a month on a $1500 phone bill? You have got to be kidding, right?

Well, If jobs paid more, I would be able to pay more....

But here is what happend, Had a family plan. Added my best friend on there. She had the 200 text plan. Send honestly about 6,212 ($621.00) Text Messages. And went over 55 minutes. She then lost her job. The two cancel fees they assesed ($400.00) plus late fees and everything else....

Has your account been charged off yet? Because if it hasn't, theres still a chance you can call customer service to see if they can help you out with your bill - explain your situation and see if they would be willing to do a "rerate" for you. They would basically rerate you as if you had the family unlimited messaging feature for 29.99, and credit back the sms usage from the bill (minus the 29.99 fee for the feature). Then you could pay the balance minus the ETF's and when they reconnect the lines the ETF's would be auto waived.

If your account is already charged off, though, that seriously restricts what customer service will be willing to do to help you.

So $621 in text, $24.75 in voice, maybe $100 (shooting high) on monthly service, $350 in ETFs, because they aren't $200 each. That's a little over $1,000. Did you have $500 past due too?

I would give up, I personally do not see why the company should give you any slack. As a rep I would not be jumping through hoops for you. It's nothing about bad customer service, you just can't pay your bill, which is not our fault. You have more than enough options to check usage on your entire account. At what point does corporate responsibility stop and consumer responsibility start?

Consumer responsiblity begins when people get a bloody education and come to the understanding that everything has a price attached to it. Consumer responsibility and consumer ignorance share an inverse relationship. =)

Try to earn extra money wherever you can and apply that to your bill. Also, you could take that "friend" of yours to small claims court.

Collect from your friend....and pay the bill. Sue her on Peoples Court if you have to. And don't do this sort of thing again....I know you already knew that.
