Purchasing a Nokia 6230
A friend of mine told me that a CD- Nokia PC suite comes when you purchase the phone from Cingular, but according to a Sales assoc., I have to buy evrything separate because nothing comes with the phone. Is this true?

how is Cingular making money off a FREE download fron Nokia's site. Nokia decided to not package it due to the fact that its available for FREE

Cingular isnt making money off the software and that doesnt matter to Cingular. Having an insanely-feature packed phone, like the 6230 at the great price it is at, is a better position for selling more, and yet Nokia saves money by not producing the software copies for the 6230, but still knowing people are gonna buy it up anyways. Win-Win situation.

The CD-ROM they were going to sell you is Cingular's Data Connect. That is not included with anyones phone.

Thanks for the info, then now I have an idea that it is different from what Nokia has for free, that wasn't explained by the Xingular rep. that it was a different software.

Cingular's Connection Manager software is ALSO FREE. www.cingular.com/connectionmanager
If you were suggested to purchase anything, it could only be a Laptop Connect PACKAGE to add on your account, or a Data Cable to connect via USB or Serial.
