It's nice when I try and go that extra mile and get yelled at for it.

I just got off a call with a "friendly" customer who thought it would be appropriate to scream and yell at me because when answering what the ETF is I started a sentence instead of simply saying $175. 🙄

$10 says she'll call in sometime in the future yelling and screaming because she wasn't told something... 🤣

Hey guys -

I know customers can sometimes be a little...hmmm.."hard to handle"..but c'mon. This isn't a board accessible only by Cingular employees. If I was a potential customer and I came to this board looking for some information about Cingular, i'd never sign up with the way some of the reps on here talk about customers. I know its fun to vent but still...

It's important to remember that we are only customer service reps or sales reps when we're on the clock. This board is not Cingular, nor does it represent the experience that you'll get from us when you call or come in. We're people too, and we vent about customers and the various idiots that we encounter just like everyone else.

Have I ever mentioned the dumbasses that come into my Cingular branded store and ask to pay thier Nextel bill, or buy an accessory for their Verizon phone?

I'm a customer and I hang around here and it doesn't bother me. Honesty, it reminds me that you guys are human 😛

Although, I did work at a call center for 2 months so I have a little more insight. I wasn't really dealing with customers, I helped process credit applications when retail store reps called me when they had a problem doing it themselves or if they had to do a student app. But sometimes those people were bitchy too.

I never really yell or be mean to any reps. But if I'm really having a problem with something that should be fixed, I let the CSR know that I'm frustrated and would appreciate help. A lot of them ended up being really nice to me after I showed some respect and would do anything possible to help me out.

So, ju...

Well go into any other service provider forum and you'll see the same stuff written. Dealing with certain issues once is "hmmm..hard to handle" but over and over and over and over and over just gets really old really fast. Especially how people present themselves to you with the problems, its ridiculous.

And yeah its fun to vent about it. 😁
