They are good looking. But still crippled with VZW ugly UI.

I'll stick to my choice of unlocked, unbranded, easily swappable via SIM phones all day long.

Plus....Verizon coverage in Charlotte NC all but disappeared.

your UI argument is a bit ridiculous cause it's completed revamped and just as functional as any other UI ive seen. And the phone is no more crippled than the iphone.

Not worried about the SIM cards, and neither are most average consumers.

I live in wisconsin, so I have no input on service in charlotte with vzw.

Thanks for your input...

I have looked at the phones and I believe they will stem the migration to ATT from those who desire the iPhone, The LGs look good and feature wise are ahead of the iPhone.

In fact many who migrated to ATT for the iPhone may pay the ETF to go back to their first choice.

No offense I really don't see that happening in a big way the people who would switch would have switched anyway for various other reasons, I find it so funny how these Verizon fan boys get all excited when they get a half way decent line up of phones. in my opinion none of the phones would spark the massive interest the Iphone has sparked .Now don't get it twisted I like the Iphone for what it is which is a very easy to use internet, Ipod ,and emailing device for the masses but if you are a power user you would be better served by another phone , I'm a Htc 8525 guy who is about to make the jump to the 8925(tilt) when it comes to AT&T,check the specks , now thats power baby, also the Nokia N95 is a sweet phone but lets be real people both ph...

Wow, a little defensive there cwcanty. Boulderboy, stated his opinion (you as well), and it encountered with what's wrong with at&t's UI,SIM, and coverage in your area. You my friend are hard core VZW. (respect for standing up for your carrier). 😎

Yean,

Yeah, i'll be honest I am vzw fan. I dont agree with everything they do. I just think people are soooo hard on them for certain issues.

And Im really getting sick of hearing about how att is great cuz they have sim cards. Sim cards don't make your service any better, it just makes it slightly easier to use your phone.

vzw has it's flaws, but I just really believe that it is the best carrier overall for most situations.

I feel the same with Sprint, that's why I respect your opinion. You have a lot of heart, and not afraid to voice your opinion of your carrier.
Me, myself, prefer Sprint over any carrier, due to plans, pricing, J2me, etc. but that's a different story.
I wonder if VZW will join the SIM club with LTE? I think LTE is going to be GREAT for VZW. Voda and VZW going AIP for data...AWSOME (if there's no cap)
Sorry for going off subject. To respond to your thread. YES, with VZW's line-up. This WILL effect ALL carriers, not just at&t. I'm drooling over the line up.

ANY sonys... the ones online will come off of exclusive eventually, but by then they'll be old and no one will want them. Making a phone an online exclusive is freaking retarded. They're already allowed to make up their own prices instead of following market guidelines, and they're allowed to advertise and say things like "the best deals are always online". They don't need any help getting revenue, and it hurts their COR stores too.

When's the last time there was an agent exclusive device?

how much cheaper can PDA's get? I think their pretty reasonable at the moment. You figure you're gonna pay atleast $200 for one. I think verizon has a few options in that price range.

I do agree with the data tho. They have got to do something and fast! Their prices are just too much. $45 for data is becoming more and more ridiculous every single day.

I haven't looked at every new model, but at&t appears to have something as good or better than its competitor in the VZW line up.

OTOH, VZW will continue to kill at&t in marketing. For example, a lot of people thick the Blackberry 8830 is some kind of breakthrough, even though the 8800 was capable of operating in as many countries all along.

What at&t needs to do is find a new ad agency.

You people don't realize that most people dont care about high speed data. They want reliable service at fair prices. High speed is not a concern for the average consumer. And most people could care less about 4g, and most dont even care about 3g

archaic...simma down. Im 25, and I have two 42 inch HDTVs in my condo...

My point is simple, currently the MAJORITY of wireless consumer are not concerned with how fast they can check email or myspace. I know our generation might be. But we are just one small piece. I just don't see people running out to get sprint because they have 4g. Most people will probably still be asking.."what does 4g mean"

And making a boost from 3g to 4g is nothing compared to the government MANDATING digital television by a set date. People are pretty much being forced into hdtv (which Im okay with). No one is forced to sign up for vcast or mobile tv.

Really most people I know over 30ish do not bother with extra features much and really just want a cheap reliable phone and service.

I agree with you on Sprint correcting their customer service. As chainsaw pointed earlier, Sprint "may" have the worst customer service ( I believe it's the top 400 companies...still bad though. ), but some people may not care and don't deal with customer service.
Different strokes for different folks. The thing about Sprint is, there's TOO MANY options for customers. When you have too many options, you have more problems. VZW on the other hand Keeps It Simple Stupid (KISS). VZW plays a smart role in business and advertising. Sprint wants their customer base to assume I guess. Only if I could run Sprint, *sigh*, I change the company for the better. I guess, I'll start off one day at a time. 😉

It will not effect ATT at all.

All the CDMA versions of the phones are old GSM versions.

The Venus is very much based on the LG Shine. And seriously what kind of name is Venus??

The LG 1000K is just a newer version of the 9900 with touch screen. Nothing special about that.

The Samsung u470 juke is just a CDMA version of the older GSM version with the swivel.

Pearl CDMA is year and half old.

It is funny Verizon comes out with old phones and people are liking them. Granted it is a different technology but there is nothing new.

The pearl cdma has been updated...and has a few more features than the current pearl.

and while the 10000 is an update, its a pretty significant update adding html browsing, 8gb storage, and a really sharp touch screen on the front.

Correction, the 8120 (pearl 2) is available in Europe now and will be here GSM before years end. So they updated the Pearl across the board. Plus the GSM version has WiFi.

I think the reason for GSM people minimizing the CDMA phones is because it's always on GSM first, so it's nothing new to us. We saw most of the same technology in GSM last year.

Samsung u470 is just a CDMA Samsung x830 which cam out September 2006.

I believe that's the point carlsberg was trying to make.

There are soooooo many different phones to choose from, I don't have to wait on my carrier to bring them out. And, I can fly pretty much anywhere in the world and my phone work!

I hear a lot of people complain about voice quality on GSM, but my service is crystal clear. My parents us CDMA and the always sound muffled when I talk to them. Lol, it's funny I chose GSM because the voice quality was so great.

I think it has a lot to do with the handset you carry on GSM as well. LG is GARBAGE! They put more money into CDMA than GSM and you can tell the difference. But Nokia, Sony Ericsson, HTC, Blackberry all focus on GSM first, then CDMA second (exluding Nokia and SE, they make no CDMA anymore).
