WHy is it that we at AT&T can't get a device like this. Something directly marketed towards teens A 13 year old and her mom came in to my store the other day, The teen had a blackberry, and sent 19,000 SMS messages. Good thing they had the unlimited plan, or the mom would have had to sell the house to pay the bill, I digress...
Does anyone on this board who has been working for AT&T longer than me, know why we don't get a sidekick type device.

I guarentee that the tilt is not aimed towards teenagers, i think the duo should do pretty well but the prices is high. parents are not going to fork out the 500 for the tilt but i think some might swing 300 for the duo. i just also wish we could get something alittle more like the sidekick or the en-v.

I agree. I like the looks of the tilt and the duo, but they are smart phones, we need good texting non- smart phones.

I have already started a thread like this because I feel the same way. We should have a phone that rivals the Envy or sidekick, but I've been told that they are too expensive and parents won't fork out the dough to pay for them. They would rather get a free POS then pay for a text specific phone. The Blackberry or the Treo are affordable and do about the same as both the envy and sidekick. When anyone comes into the store and asks for a texting phone I take them strait to the Pearl.

We shouldn't have to show them a Pearl though. The cell phone industry is full of competition copying eachother, so why hasn't ATT got on the ball with Verizon, and T-Mobile. That Motorola Sidekick, would have been perfect for ATT.

I'm sure parents would pay for them, if not the teens themselves often offer to pay some the offset the cost. I worked at Best buy selling mutliple carriers and the Envy really sold alot of people on Verizon because Att and Sprint didn't have anything the match it.
