My wife misplaced or lost her RAZR.....there is NO current usage listed on Online Account--

What do I do....I'm not due for an upgrade until 12/2007.....I don't have insurance....what are the costs involved with replacing phone and new SIM card ???

If I buy a phone from EBAY, can I just go to the ATT phone and just buy a SIM card ???

Thanks

What would happen if I just started a new number, new activation if I don't report her phone LOST ???? Chances are, the phone is lost forever, does not look like anyone has it.

If I started a new line, but not report it lost, that would not be a churn. My contract on 3 phones expires in March 2008. I could conceivably cancel the lost phone then, while entering a new 2 year on the new line.

BTW, her number used to be the MAIN number on our FAMILY plan.....if I suspend her phone, would that mess up my billing at all ???

Now if you added a new line note to self, now you have a 26 dollar activation and depending on what FT plan you have you will either have a extra 14.99 or 9.99 bill each month. Not fun. So you can suspend it, it is only for that number so that if someone does have it they cant make calls. Than simply go to a at&t store, ask for a new sim card on that account and than now her number is on that new sim card and just whenever you get a new phone for her just put your sim card in that new phone and you will be good to go cuase that sim card is what gives that phone service.

How long has it been missing? Have you tried calling it to see if you can hear it ringing (in the house, her car, work...etc.). Also, there is a good possibility that if someone finds it, they might be waiting for someone to call it so they can return it. I found a Razr on a park bench in Chicago a few months ago. I looked in the contacts list an saw an entry for "My House". I called it and got someone. To make a long story short, she got her phone back that day.

Any calls to the phone go to VM

I have the 550 Family Plan which started with Cingular ....her MIN was a new Cingular MIN....originally, hers was the MAIN number on the Family Plan.....are there any problems with sharing minutes if I suspend her phone ??

What do you think about starting a new line and keeping the LOST number active ??

dude just go get a cheap at&t go phone, and get a new sim card. it'll do the job and won't have to deal with opening a new line and crap. thas what i did last year. I learned that from the at&t rep that i always deal with and it worked like a charm.

why pay for a phone that you don't have anymore and get another line? I am lost on that. And did you say you were worried about chrurn if you cancel. Are you for real?
