Provider services?

I am a VZW subscriber (just renewed for two more years until the ATT/Cingular stuff smooths out).
VZW has a service called Get It Now where subscribers can download apps (traffic reports, weather radar, graphical driving directions, etc) using voice minutes.

Does Cingular offer anything similar? Will they?
I can see radar and traffic reports obtainable via the web, but not driving directions based on your current location and providing on-the-spot directions and re-routing).

Thanks.

I think Cingular does have the driving directions via ENHANCED 411 DIRECTORY ASSISTANCE SERVICE. That would be turn-by-turn directions.

Maybe a Cingular rep can confirm?

Well, I know that AWS had #121 Voice Info which was a voice activated "internet" type service (traffic, weather, sports, stocks, etc) that would use voice minutes, but there was no monthly cost involved. You only got billed airtime if you actually used it.

I'm not sure what Cingular had/has that is similar. I think there is something but I don't know what it's marketed as on Cingular's menu.

Cingular has voice connect *8 or on some GSM models, *08. However the difference in the two programs is that #121 could be used for all but voice dialing w/o a monthly charge. Cingular, you must subscribe ($4.99) to use any portion of the service.
